#4566 - c. 1980's LORIS AZZARO, Paris Hot Pink Changeable Taffeta "MERMAID" Ballgown! If I wrote down all the most glamorous stars who have been wearing Loris Azzaro on the Red Carpet these days, there would be no room for me to write anything else about this gown! A favorite since the 1970's, but especially lately, everybody who is anybody is wearing "Loris Azzaro". Nicole Kidman even wore a vintage Loris Azzaro gown for the New York Premier of "Moulin Rouge". And more recently, Terri Hatcher wore Azzaro for the SAG awards. So... you can be somebody too! And in this gown, your friends WILL be asking "who you are wearing"! Museum quality. Fabulous Design! Made of a unique Azzaro signature changeable taffeta fabric. Simple sheathe gown but with an intriguing crumb-catcher bodice and then .. oh my... the "pleated" overskirt peplum which is much lower in back which looks like clamshells to me... giving you that mermaid quality. The gown comes with matching ruffle-edged shawl for even MORE drama! Excellent condition. Measures:  37/38" bust, 29/30" waist, up to 37/38" hips, 41" long from waist to hem. There is no give to the gown, so these are the maximum measurements! Has internal bra and boning for support.  Looks incredible on!!

#9759 - c. 1960's GRENELLE, Roberts Black Silk Chiffon and Crepe Dress! In the 1955, Luis Estevez jointed Grenelle, Ltd. and the next year, at age 24, was the youngest designer to win the coveted Coty award. When he left to pursue his own label, the Grenelle Roberts label was formed. Smashingly designed dress! Black silk chiffon multi-layered full skirt flutters in the breeze (think Marilyn!).  The wide fitted crepe waistband bring the eye to the unique bustline with "wings".  Totally unexpected will have all the right people looking at your bust! :)   If you are small enough for this dress... lucky you! Measures:  30" bust, 23" waist, 25" underbust, up to 36" hips, 28" long from waist to hem. Back metal zipper. Excellent condition.

#4966 - c. 2000's KATE SPADE, New York Embroidered Metallic Linen Two-Tiered Wrap Skirt! I'm obviously out of the loop as I didn't even know that Kate Spade had an apparel line (I found this skirt in a resale shop), I just know her accessories. But her apparel pieces seem to be fairly rare, as even on the kate spade website, there are only a hand- full of apparel pieces for sale! So what's up?   This is obviously a great skirt, so perhaps she just needs my help to get her apparel business up and running? :)  This is a true wrap skirt so it will fit most of you.  It's a wonderful brushed golden color of a fairly shiny metallic 100% linen with large black embroidered design of flowers, vines, and three different animals.  Due to the black linen underskirt that peeks out the bottom, the embroidery evoke the look of silhouettes or cutouts.  Near Mint condition.  24" long.

#4805 - c. 1945 CASA DRESDEN, Cochabamba Dark (nearly black) Navy Wool Suit with Tie Belt and Gray Persian Lamb Trim! Ok.. here's your geography lesson for the day. And you just thought this was a vintage clothing website! :) Cochabamba is a city in central Bolivia. As I read "the city is known for its moderate climate and often called Bolivia's "Resort City", "Garden City" or "City of Eternal Spring". Sounds great... but then WHAT did this highly fashionable woman need such a heavy winter suit for???? Can anyone say "Global Warming??" Looks like Al Gore is on the right track... must be a heck of a lot warmer there now! So now think Eva Peron to evoke the glamour of this great fashionable suit. Interesting seaming detailing on jacket, with the lovely gray persian lamb trim on deep pockets, lapels and those "star trek" decorative inverted "v"s at upper chest. Simple basic side metal zipper skirt with back kick pleat. Fully lined jacket. Skirt measures: 25" waist, 36/37" hips, 27" long from waist to hem. Jacket is nearly impossible to measure as it's a wrap style... the bust could fit up to 38" bust likely, and no closures at the waist, it's 14" across back between armseams, 16" across shoulders, 25" long from back neck to hem. Excellent condition. Go vintage and wear with ankle strap shoes and red lipstick, or go modern and wear great jacket with jeans! Great look! Rare label.

#4865 - c. 1990's CHRISTIAN DIOR BOUTIQUE, Paris Numbered Label Black Jacquard Fancy Tuxedo Pants Suit with Organdy Lapels!  Feels like the finest silk you have ever felt, however the label says it's a blend of Viscose and Acetate. Hard to believe!! Really... you will love the feel of this! It's a tuxedo suit... with flat front pants that have a tuxedo satin stripe down sides, high waist and side zipper. Beside the gorgeous fabric, it's the organdy-type fabric double layer lapels that make this so fancy and special. The jacket has no closures and can be worn open or wrapped as you see. Note: the sash is not part of the suit, I just used one to show you how it might look wrapped and belted.  You may prefer it open.  The finest tailored pieces match patterns perfectly at seams!  Check out this beauty!!  Obviously a top-of-the-line Dior suit.  Both pieces fully lined.  Measures: Hard to measure bust as it's open to waist, 31" waist, up to 40" hips jacket for wrapped jacket, up to 44" hips pants, 16/5" across jacket back between armseams, 17" long sleeve underarm to cuff, , 8" flat width across hem of tapered legs. Near Mint condition. Padded shoulders for shape. Labeled size 46.  The charts say that's a US 16, but ... seems smaller.

#9819 - c. early 1970's WILSON FOLMAR Wild Print Silk Twill Dress with Matching Small Shawl! This may have been one of the last dresses designed by Wilson Folmar as he designed from 1936-1972.  Per vintagefashionguild.org: Starting as head designer for prestigious department store Jay-Thorpe, he went on to design for Edward Abbott in 1957 and then on to his own company in 1964 producing medium to high priced cocktail and evening clothes (price ranging from $150 - $1500!!!! - in the late 1960's-early 70's a huge mansion could cost only $100K!!!!). Quite an interesting dress!  The cuffs and hemline and edge of the small matching triangular shawl are like a fabric fringe, but more like cutouts. Oh heck, just look at the photos. I can't possibly describe with my limited vocabulary!  Nor will I try to describe the print.  But I will tell you that this dress gives you a lovely cleavage with it's low rounded neckline and curved empire waistband.  Measures: 33/34" bust, 27" high waistline, 46" long from shoulder to dress bottom with additional 4.5" "fringe" which makes for a long sleeve length. Scarf measures 44" x 18".  Fits tightly under the arms (as was the style of the time).  Back metal zipper.  Excellent condition with just one line of dirt at upper back (shown in photo - try to find it!).

#9757 - c. 1960's DONALD BROOKS Black Nubby Linen Dress with Heavy Corded Decorative Trim!  With Additional Saks Fifth Avenue label.  Simple elegance.  For some reason makes me think of Grace Kelly.  Can't tell you why, or what she wore that was similar... but I have some image in the back of my mind.  Anyway.... Donald Brooks is becoming more and more a collectable label. This dress is in Near Mint condition.  Black nubby, fairly substantial weight linen with silk lining.  Wide box pleating on skirt and gathered waist covered with thin tie belt.  Button back upper and zipper lower. The decoration is heavy circles of cording around neckline and waistline.  Measures: 34" bust, 24" waist, 38"+ hips, 23.5" long from waist to hem.  Silk lined.  The interior waistband measures 22", but you don't need to close that.. and who could? :) !

#4619 - c. 1965 PIERRE CARDIN, Paris/New York Mushroom Colored Wool Knit Mod Dress!  Museum De-accession!  First things first... this dress was missing its original skinny black belt, so I found one that looks nearly perfect.  I will keep it with the dress.  Otherwise, the dress is NEAR MINT condition!   The design is very Cardin - who had an interest in architecture which shows up in his designs.  This dress gives the illusion of wrap, but it isn't. Great detailing at the yoke and hemline of horizontal top-stitching gives it the "modern" look. The color is something like a purply-gray... unique! The buttons are ornamental black leather.  Back zipper.  Measures: 34/35" bust, up to 33" waist, up to 39" hips, 38" long from shoulder to hem. Since it's a knit wool, there is some stretch, though it's fully silk lined.  Has the museum tags attached.

#6072 - c. 1970's Yellow Linen with White Lace Bodice! This dress came from the same lot as the Valentino Couture linen dress owned by Queen Noor of Jordan!  There are no labels in this dress, but it's the same quality good-weight linen and the white lace bodice is elegant and lined with nude material ... and the shape is certainly lady-like and regal enough to make me wonder if indeed it was owned by the Queen as well. No guarantees, but seems a good possibility!   Measures: 36" bust, up to 27.5" waist, 29.5" ribcage (top of waistband), 41" long from shoulder to hem. Excellent condition.

#4358 - c. 1936 Red Plum Silk Velvet Gown! Wow! Superb maroon (though I call it red plum as that's the closest I can come to the right color!) velvet bias cut evening gown with long sleeves, upper sleeves puffed, with lower sleeve tightly buttoned (11 buttons on each!), small ruffle at neck. There is actually a very subtle stripe to the velvet making it look even more impressive. The bodice is seamed to accentuate the bustline. The gown hugs your curves and will drive him wild as he attempts to imagine what you look like with the dress off rather than on! :) Excellent condition. Size you ask??? Well... since it's bias, it will stretch to fit a variety of bodies.. So.. if you are interested in this dress, please just email me your measurements (no cheating... get out the tape measure!) and I will let you know how it will work on you. Length about 57 inches, but will change depending on your size. Side snaps.

#4717 - c. 2006 - From Bravo's TV's "PROJECT RUNWAY" Show! THE Actual Runway, One-of-a-Kind Gown Designed and Created by Project Runway's Season 2 Winner, Chloe! FINAL COLLECTION! Here's your ONLY chance to buy THE gown you saw coming down the runway on Bravo's hit show "Project Runway". Designed by Season 2 winner, Chloe... this was by far (in my opinion), the best looking gown of the entire season! Purchased directly from Bravo TV, this gown still has the double stick tape inside the bust to keep it looking great on the model (as left) as she sashayed down the catwalk, AND comes with the original two goldtone bangle bracelets. The tailoring of this gown is totally professional. The material is fabulous! A green woven cotton gauze chiffon lined in glorious feeling silk with tulip embroidery and clear sequin/beads for just a hint of glitter. Empire waist with low cleavage front and back. Two long flowing "tails" at back to flutter along with the hem of the gown as you walk. Looks amazing on as long as you have small cup size breasts. If my breasts were smaller, I would keep this in a heartbeat! Measures: 33" bust, 25" waist, 62" long from shoulder to hem. NOTE: INVESTMENT PIECE! Imagine owning Calvin Klein's first collection piece.. or Donna Karan, or Ralph Lauren... or any top designer! Who knows what future value this dress may have if Chloe "makes it big"!

#4693 - c. 1980's STAVROPOULOS Wild and Dreamy Chiffon Gown! For all you fairy princesses out there! Sexy bodice top gown under, covered with a wild printed chiffon or flowers and large dots. The shoulders are huge.. held up with sheer stiffening!! But amazingly, this gown doesn't overwhelm even the shortest, smallest women. FYI, George Stavropoulos was a Greek designer whose flowing chiffon gowns were expensive, never mass produced, and coveted by celebrities and the well-to-do. Stavropoulos's designs were simple and clean, relying on the beauty of their silhouettes and chiffon fabrics. He continued designing until his death in 1990. Now.. back to the dress.... The waist scarf is mine.. doesn't come with the gown. Go find your own in whatever color suits you, or wear without. Back zipper. Measures: 33" bust, 25" waist, 42" long from waist to hem. There are 4 layers of the skirt, silk crepe and chiffon. Lovely on! The condition is excellent.. except for the barely seen light staining of underarm of the slipdress.

#9873 - c. 1960's Pink Sequin Wool Knit Base Gown!  Love these dresses!  These were "the" dresses from the mid-1960s.  Every women likely had at least one in her closet.  They were made in British Hong Kong and are sequins on a wool knit base.  SO comfortable to wear, and yet very dressy!  The perfect combination for those of you who rip off your evening clothes as soon as you get home and get into your sweats!  You aren't alone!! :)  Great swirl floral design of shell white and clear sequins on pink wool knit base. Scoop neckline, sweet little cap sleeves and long slit at side of skirt. At one point there was a thin elastic inside the waistline to create a slightly blouson effect, but the elastic is stretched out, and is totally unnecessary, and probably unwanted anyway for a long, lean look.  Back metal zipper. Measures: up to 40" bust, up to 31" waist, up to 46" hips, 16" slit from hem on side. #9699 - c. 1990's Maxwell & Co. Changeable Pumpkin Silk Chiffon Gown! This gown came from the closet of an ex-opera star. She obviously never wore it as it still has the original $ 1,050. tag!! SO.. you get to buy it at less than 1/3rd the price..even though it's good as new! And THAT'S why you shop vintage! :) Marked size 44. Similar to the simplicity of an Armani gown. Unfortunately, the extreme beauty of this gown is in the fabrication, which is hard to feel and see through your computer screen! :) Wonderful feel to the silk chiffon! And OH the coloration! Totally unique!! It's almost a changeable and graduated chiffon (could almost look like velvet from afar). The only styling is the seam stripe down the center.... giving a bit of a "mod" look... like something Emma Peel might have worn in the 1990s! :) Measures: up to 36" bust (but also looks great on smaller, I'm 33" "c" bust and looks fine on me), up to 30" waist (perhaps 31"), up to 42" hips (perhaps 43"), will hit the ground on 5'3" women... so best for 5'4" in heels to wear and be able to walk without stepping on it. Can be taller, you will just see more shoe. Looks GREAT on!

Sweetheart neckline. Padded shoulders. Glitters as the rhinestones are still clear and bright. Add a rhinestone belt perhaps... or a ribbon at the waist, or just a belt with a rhinestone buckle. There is a very light water ring around lower skirt, but that's the only issue (if you can call it that). Measures: 38" bust, 29" waist, up to 40" hips, 56/57" long from shoulder to hem. !

Tomato red silk twill in a striking floral pattern of pinks and greens. Wide scoop neckline, shore sleeves, fitted bodice to stiffened bubble skirt studded with bows. The skirt is surprisingly padded!! ... gives it some bulk. The shoulders are fairly wide, so if you have narrow shoulders (like me), may not stay on all that well. If you lengthen back to original length (3" longer) the bubble of the skirt will be more pronounced. As it is, it's just a slight bubble shape. Your choice! Back metal zipper. Excellent condition.

#4558 - c. 1980's ANDREA ODICINI, Giorgio Beverly Hills Movie Star Quality Silk Satin Gown! Thanks to one of my very knowledgeable customers, I have information on Andrea Odicini for you! He is considered by Italian women who know couture to rank along side, or even above, Valentino,... who is known to also pay Odicini great homage!! Odicini ranks tops and is absolutely revered. His creations were/are absolutely coveted... although he is not well known outside of Italy. From a wealthy Genoese family, he was able to pick and chose his clientele. If he did not like you, or if he thought that you did not understand fabrics and construction, he would not design for you! When he moved his atelier from Rome to Genoa, many women would journey to Genoa just to buy his creations because no one could equal his collections. He is the best of the best... bar none. He has incredible style, and his dresses are beautifully made.. inside and out -- just incredible. And, of course, they are costly, but Odicini would never ever compromise quality of fabric (using the best silks etc.) and the finest construction, so women were happy to pay his prices because they knew what they were getting. In the 80's, he finally agreed to make a ready-to-wear line, but his creations were still ultra costly. Bottomline.. Odicini equals incredible works of art! So.. for you... an ecru silk satin gown with button sleeves. Likely had shoulder pads at some time, but if you are tall, it can be worn without. Huge pearl and smoky glass ornament at front. Now take a look at all the photos! I used a bit of imagination to change the look of the gown by just moving the "tails" front and back, around the waist, or draped on hips. Have fun with it! Not sure what was originally intended, but I believe (by the same knowledgeable person) that Odicini likely originally made the design for Gina Lollabrigida, as she peronally saw her wearing it in Cannes, France!

Condition: Excellent condition with just minor satin pulls (no more than you would find in a store today!). Measures: 36" bust, 26" waist, up to 36" hips, 59" long from shoulder to hem. Back zipper. Be a Hollywood star!

#4579 - c. 1969 Numbered Couture CHRISTIAN DIOR, Autumn-Winter 1969, Paris Winter Coat! For all you collectors who like to find the numbered, dated pieces.. how about a great Christian Dior coat? Fabulous double-breasted plush coat... interesting fabric.. I'm sure there is a name for it, but alas... my lack of education is showing! Don't tell anyone! The fabric feels like something between a silk velvet and a silk corduroy (though the fabric label in the pocket reads "silk, acetate, acrylic, polyamine." Though I don't know if the label is correct to the coat.. so... I guess if you know polymine to the touch... you are a heck of a lot smarter than I! :) Whatever it is.. its fabulous to the touch. The only thing to mention is that since it's from the (nearly) 1970s, the underarms are tighter than we wear items today.  It was the cut from that era.  None will be different.  It's just something to keep in mind from the 1970's.  It will feel tighter than we expect... so if you want to feel roomier, than you should go the size smaller (size 6). Does that make sense or am I rambling??? :)   However... all that being said... it measures:  37" bust,  up to 37" waist, up to 42" hips, 15.5" across the back, 24" sleeve from top of shoulder seam to cuff, 45" long from shoulder to hem.  It's a very classy, almost dressy coat. Excellent condition.. with just a tiny patch of lining torn under one arm not seen at all on outside (see photo), and one button that needs to be sewn back on (it's in the pocket... I pinned it on for the photograph, but you really don't want me to attempt to sew it. Really... you don't! :) Also in the pocket is more tag info from Bergdorf Goodman.   Why JUST wear a coat.. wear an investment piece!

#4580 - c. 1980's Mocha Silk Chiffon Gown Encrusted with Beads, Rhinestones, Sequins, etc.! I'm sure by now you have heard about the Bob Mackie auction where his fully beaded gowns sold for thousands (up to $17,000)! This gown is very similar in feel to the 1982 Bob Mackie gown which sold for $5,000. (still listed in my museum section) . So.. though this is not a Mackie gown... it's as good as... and no one will know but you. And when "they" say, "Oh my.. is that a Mackie?" Just smile! And you don't have to just take my word for it, this gown comes directly from the historic Chew family of Cliveden Mansion, in the Germantown area of N.W. Philadelphia, PA since 1763. The mansion is now part of the National Trust. So you can't have the mansion.. but you can have the gown! Great mocha colored silk chiffon with every square inch covered with beads, rhinestones, or sequins! Egyptian in design with large trompe o'oeil belt and buckle! Fully lined. The photos were taken with the wide 1980's shoulder pads still attached... however, I removed them to make sure it was possible to wear with more modern shape, and indeed... it's perfect without the pads! So... the dress is even more perfectly beautiful now! Has a great rounded slit at front of skirt matching the cuffline. Excellent condition.. I see only two beads missing near one shoulder! They may be more, but those are the only two spotted. Hidden back zipper. Measures: 36" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 38" hips, 59" long from shoulder to hem.

Some day I they will create the software that will allow that to be a reality, but until that day, you will have to trust me when I tell you stuff. This was without a doubt one of the most expensive ribbon dresses when new! Not your "run of the mill". Nope. This is a fabulous feeling silk ribbon, and very heavy and thick.. nearly soft enough to sleep on! Then if you look closely you will see steel beading and hanging beads decorating all over the intricate floral design. Modified sweetheart neck, short sleeves, back metal zipper. Measures: 35/36" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 37" hips, 37" long from shoulder to hem. Because this dress is thick.. it's better for those of you who aren't always looking for a dress that will hug your body. Rather this dress has a form of it's own. #4547 - c. 1930's A Registered Original Design with Fashion Originators Guild Printed Chiffon Gown with Matching "Blouse/Jacket"! LARGER SIZE! If you have read through enough of my rantings and ravings, you will know that I rarely like prints. I find most of them too jarring, just too much. Perhaps it's because I'm small and short (Thank goodness there are a few other midgets...ah, er, shorties like Eva Longoria "in vogue"! ) and I think I become invisible under all that print. OR maybe... I just don't like prints! :) Did you ever think of THAT!? However... I DO like this print.. therefore it gets a place on my website. Lucky dress! I'm also a sucker for gray, so that helps. Gray background silk chiffon printed with fuchsia tulips and green leaves. Comes with the matching original belt, the original huge silk flower at bust (however, that is stained and tired so you might want a new flower) AND comes with the original matching overblouse/jacket which can be worn straight and open, or tied up (I shown both way). I like the gown separately myself.. and then use the blouse for other outfits. Measures: up to 42" bust, up to 38" waist!! up to 42" hips, 56" long from shoulder to hem. Marked size 40. Original taupe silk slip is attached. Excellent condition with the following mentions... minor spots on the slip, and minor darkening at the back of one armhole - difficult to see due to design and color (see close-up photos).

I kept hoping that my hips would somehow miraculously shrink and I could comfortably wear this gown. However, I have finally come to the realization that unless I remove my wide hipbones... it's never gonna happen. No matter how thin I get (within reason), I will never have less than 37" hips... and this dress needs 36" hips. I can get the gown on, and I can stand in front of the mirror and enjoy looking at myself in it... but can't sit, so I guess that's that. The gown is now available to one of you lucky thin-hipped gals. Waaahhhhh! The gown is a soft black velvet, one shouldered thin sheath gown with fitted waistline a well as empire seaming with fabulous heavy black drop beading off of heavy black gimp braiding on the empire bodice AND on the edge of the attached shawl!!! A unique design. You can let the shawl hang straight down the back behind right sleeve... or meant to be worn over the left arm as shown. Measures: 34/35" bust, 26" waist, 36" hips.

#4449 - c. 1980's VERA WANG Black Satin Gown with Black Net Upper Back and "Overskirt"! This gown is FAB.. great black satin material, low "v" neckline with teeny lapels, fitted bodice, totally "naked" upper back of netting only. Slim skirt with the attached overskirt at the back!! I always buy these gowns with the overskirts .. they are my particular favorite. Very Audrey Hepburn in "Sabrina". Measures: 34" bust, 26" waist, up to 38" hips, 39" long from waist to hem. There are 3 tiny breaks in the netting.. one at side waist, on a mid back that I can't seem to find again, and the worst one at the back of one shoulder. I would probably have a seamstress just add a few stitches to the break at the side, and then I would cover the shoulder hole with a black (or heck, colored) applique or flower. It would actually add interest! AND cover the problem. Easily done. Just use some of your imagination.. oh and while you are at it.. can you PLEASE imagine that I pressed this gown???? So Sorry... I was in a rush, but you get the idea (I hope).. the wrinkles WILL come out!... oh and also, the back zipper WILL close all the way,,, just not on my hunchback mannequin (don't tell her I called her that! She might sic a lawsuit on me!!).

#4073 - c. 1950's Couture FALKENSTEIN Black Silk Chiffon and Champagne Colored Taffeta Grecian Gown! Wow! Top of the line! Exquisite design by Arthur Falkenstein. Falkenstein opened his atelier at the Hotel Meurice in New York in the 1930s. At first he purchased models from Paris and copied them, but by 1941 he was designing a wide gamut of clothing from smart suits to glamorous evening gowns. His designs rivaled the greatest American couturiers of the time including Hattie Carnegie, Sophie of Saks and has the look of a Parisian Jean Desses.  The gown is black taffeta topped with black chiffon draped and wrapped around a narrow skirt. There is an explosion of (removable) champagne colored silk taffeta and black chiffon off the right waist. The bodice is strapless with long chiffon scarf falling from the left shoulder to the ground. Side metal zipper. This gown is best for posing... not easy to wear. Measurements: 33" bust, 25" waist, 35" hips, 41" long from waist to hem. Excellent condition.  However... other than 5 smaller than matchhead sized graduated holes (in a line) in the attached scarf, there are some holes and some repaired holes to the draped chiffon at the hem area.  These were not seen until full inspection.  They are unavoidable on a gown like this.. as they come from walking/heels.  You won't see them under normal conditions.  Other than the fact that the zipper will need a quick machine stitching, the gown is still in remarkable condition for such a rare chiffon designer gown!

#4519 - c. 1980's LORIS AZZARO, Paris Changeable Iridescent Purple and Green Taffeta Ballgown! When I first saw this gown, I knew there was something special about it. But it wasn't until I checked out the label that I found out just how special! Loris Azzaro was a favorite in the 70's and 80's, worn by many a glamorous star, including Raquel Welch and Sophia Loren. Azzaro vintage gowns are making a comeback on the red carpet by the likes of Nicole Kidman (at the 2001 premiere of "Moulin Rouge"), followed by Carmen Electra, Diane Lane, etc . And Azzaro gowns are now found in museums, recently as part of the NYC FIT museum exhibit "Glamour: Fashion, Film, Fantasy. You will find new Azzaro gowns, but these vintage pieces are already collectables! This gown is made of unique ever-changing color taffeta, and intriguing color combination of purple and green. Tightly gathered heart-shaped bustline bodice and full skirt with the "overskirt" of green (underlined in purple) evokes the infamous Audrey Hepburn Givenchy gown from "Sabrina"... as she rustles her skirt while awaiting William Holden at the ball. Wonderfully tailored... obviously very expensive originally. Wear a unique museum quality gown! Measures: 36" bust, 29" waist, up to 41" hips, 43.5" long from waist to hem. Excellent condition.

#2747 - c. 1960's GALANOS(?) or YVES SAINT LAURENT (?) Black Silk Gauze and Black Sequin Overdress! There are no labels on this dress, but the person I purchased if from thought it was a Galanos... I think it looks more like YSL from 1967 (similar sheer sequined dress shown). I have no way to verify that.. so.. I will just pass the information on to you and you can decide! Originally this might have been worn sheer on the runway, or with black slip/underdress under.  A simple 1920's style slip can be whipped up - which is a silk tube (large enough to get on over your head), sew up one side seam and add ribbon straps and voila! You can even make the black underdress longer than this overdress (so underdress sticks out the bottom... creating more of a tunic look). Or sew up a nude underdress and you will draw crowds of men as you will look naked under! Weeeee! What fun! Think Anita Morris in the original Broadway play "Nine". Her x-rated black body-stocking costume (now in a museum) had a similar look. Black sheer silk gauze sheath covered with bold floral black sequins. Trimmed at mock turtleneck, cuffs and hemline with tighter sequins. Add a belt or tie, or wear straight. Closes with black snaps at back. Excellent condition. Measures: 36/37" bust, up to 36" waist, up to 42" hips, 52" long from shoulder to hem.

#4432 - c. 2004 Fall/Winter Collection YVES SAINT LAURENT by TOM FORD Black Silk Chiffon Runway or Red Carpet Gown! Destined for a museum... the most beautiful gown you will ever see! A perfectly flouncy ruffled gown by a master designer! Yeah, I know... I'm supposed to be selling antique/vintage clothing, not new stuff... but every once in a while a spectacular gown comes my way with enough "vintage" look to it to make me crave it for this website! Think Charlize Theron or Nicole Kidman in this 1930's throwback with modern styling! Looks absolutely amazing on!!! I had trouble pulling myself away from the mirror!! Even girls with hips (like me) will look great it this.. as the draped bodice/back balances off the wide hips. Original price tag still attached of $2,450., so you save $300 to buy yourself the perfect Jimmy Choo shoes to complete the killer look!! Frankly, the money you spend on this gown will likely snag you a husband, so think of all the money you will be saving on dating services! :) I hardly need to describe this gown, just look at the photos. Form fitting body with sweeping long and dramatic draping at back which shortens to a ruffle at the front bustline. Ruffle around knees, dips a bit in back. Double ruffle hemline sweeps from front to long train at sides and back. Then... the ultimate, awesome, open "v" back ... very low and sexy as hell. Short back zipper just below "v". Excellent, new condition with just a small and invisible pull found on the tip of a back drape. Marked size 38. Measures: 35" bust, up to 28" waist, up to 37" hips, 64" long from shoulder to hem in back. A bit long for me at 5'2" only because it's hard to walk without stepping all over the train.. but the front is short enough to wear without hemming up. On a taller girl, the front will show more shoe/ankle.
