# 7088 - c. 1948 Bergdorf Goodman on the Plaza, New York Black Lightweight Wool 2-piece Sui!  Museum Deaccession! There are a few issues with this suit, but OH so pretty! Especially the lining (I know, that's weird to have a "thing" for the lining, but it's a brilliant blue silk!  And since the jacket doesn't close at front (meant to be worn as you see), I'm sure that lining will be seen as you move.   High-waisted long full skirt, self-tie at the neck, long sleeves, slight peplum jacket. Evoking Jacques Fath or Christian Dior, this suit has loads of decorative buttons so fashionable for this era.  Sadly the suit has LOTS of moth holes.  So it's best for design/pattern.  Kills me!  I hate moths!!

# 9871 - c. 1960's Black Large Sequin Wool Knit Base Shell! This is one of those vintage items that will become a staple in your wardrobe!  Perfect black knit large sequin sleeveless mock turtleneck shell. Marked "36"  and "38", but I think the 38 is correct, and the other was sewn on by someone incorrectly.  Anyway... it is a knit under the sequins so it stretches nicely! Measures:  up to 38" bust, 20" long from shoulder to hem.  Back metal zipper.  There is a bit of white deodorant residue under the arms on the sequins, but it scrapes right off.... I just need to spend the time, or for this price, I'll let you do it! Made in British Hong Kong. Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 7923 - vintage Red and Gold Thread and Lame Vest!  OK... I bought this for myself to wear for a "harem" look.  However the look was switched to a "Russian" look, so... this can now be yours. :) I have no clue when this is from.  There are no closures, as it's just meant to be worn open as you see.   Shown on a 35" bust, so you can see how it might fit your bust.   Can be worn more open and still look great.  It's a pretty piece.  That's about all I can say about it.  Excellent condition.   Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

# 4276 - c. 1950's Black Lace Over Cranberry Rayon Gown!  Sadly not in perfect condition, but if you are handy with a needle and thread, you can work your magic on the lace (see photos).  Mostly in good condition, with most of the issues in the lace at the front sleeves. Tiered lace skirt.  Measures:  up to 33/34" bust, up to 24/25" waist, 52" long from shoulder to hem.  Back metal zipper. # 9751 - c. 1940's Nude Colored Lace Tiered Gown with Original Attached Matching Slip!  Why my camera has so much trouble matching colors is beyond me!  Anyway, I've manipulated these photos to hopefully match as close as I can to the real color of this gown.  If you are buying to match something, I can't verify.  But if you are just looking for a great 40s gown in a pretty light brown/nude color with a touch of deep peach (you might call it saddle brown) ... check this out!  Side metal zipper.  Comes with the original triple rhinestone ornamental belt.  DOESN'T COME WITH THE RHINESTONE CLIPS.  Measures:  35/36" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 40" hips, 60" long from shoulder to hem. NOTE:  long-waisted... and likely had shoulderpads when new... but looks fine without.  Priced to sell.  Excellent condition... BUT you will see tiny holes in the upper back.  Because of the color, they blend in with skin, so you will hardly see anything wrong. Also Listed in the 1930-Today Category.   Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

Nice fitted wide waist (for those off you who, like me, the waist is your best figure element), and gathered skirt (to hide my not so great hips!). # 7919 - c. 1910's John Wanamaker, Philadelphia, New York, Paris, London Sheer Ivory Crepe "Suffragette" or "WWI" Blouse!  John Wanamaker's was one of the earliest department stores. This blouse if from the mid-1910's, usually worn with a simple skirt or suit. Often these blouses are white cotton rather than as sheer as this crepe blouse.  Lacy trim.  The blouse isn't perfect... there are tiny age spots here and there and a few minor tiny holes (see photo) near shoulder and upper one sleeve.  Still very wearable .... especially great for your WWI suit.   You will need to wear with a camisole under. Measures:  up to 38" bust, up to 31" waist.  Also listed in the 1850-1920s section.   Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 11739 - vintage Blue and Gold Metallic Kimono Jacket!  Ah Kimonos. There is nothing to give me a clue as to the era as all kimonos are pretty much the same shape. But it's mid-20th century.  That's the best I can do!  I could guess, but I prefer not to. Anyway.... this is a lovely shiny kimono.  Mid-color blue nearly completely covered with woven gold metallic floss creating the design you see.  Frog closures at front (they are hard to open/close so the good news is they will stay shut!), wide sleeves, slits at sides, mandarin collar. At first glance, it looks to be in great condition with blackened areas down the mid back and at other seams.  What it really is?  I don't know, but could be wear (see photos).  There is a slight discoloration in the silk lining.  Measures:  36" around bust, 29" long from shoulder to hem, 7/8 length sleeves.   Also Listed in the 1930-Today Category.     Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 7808 - c. 1950's/1960's Taupe Mink Bolero/Cape!  Direct from a Greenwich, CT estate of a socialite who traveled around the globe and spent some years living in Paris.  When I say socialite, I mean this is woman who met Queen Elizabeth!  Her jewels were recently sold at Doyle Auction House, NY and brought tens of thousands per piece.  She had furs in every closet in her house. This one was obviously worn and loved.  You can see the front edges have lost the guard hairs so it looks slightly balder there.  Looks worse in the photos than in person.  BUT it keeps the price to that of a faux fur!  The shape is like a mink bolero, but those aren't really sleeves, as you can see from the interior... you put your arms through the straps to hold it on.  Interior embroidered name "Fay".   Has a sable look with the horizontal pelts.  Have fun dressing up!   Also Listed in the Furs, etc. Category, so final sale item under $150.        Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 5097 - c. 1900 Light Gray Linen Motoring Coat or Duster Coat!  I love these coats.  They quickly evoke the long lost era of Model T Fords and all the open car motoring.  They are never found in perfect condition.  I wouldn't want them to be.  They were battered with mud and rain and whatever.  That's the beauty!!  This one is in good condition though has some spots... none are important to mention except for the large spot as you see on the lower front/side and one straight tear near hem (see photo).  The overall coat has modeled coloring.  Slightly puffed sleeves.  No belt (though there are loops). Measures:  53" long from shoulder to hem.   Up to 42" bust, up to 42" waist, up to 52" hips.  Also Listed in the Furs, etc. Category.         Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 5901b - c. 1905 Bright White Crisp Cotton Embroidered Camisole!   About as good a condition as you'll find!   Though the blue ribbon isn't the original, it still looks great and "pops".  Certainly you can easily change the ribbon to pink or whatever you fancy.   This camisole is open at the front and would have been worn over a bust enhancer for the 1905 S-curve Gibson Girl shape.  There would have been ribbon likely around the waist as there is no button or button hole there.  She would have been in and out of this piece in a flash!  No maids necessary!  Pretty white on white embroidery at the top.   Excellent, near mint condition... Measures:  Up to 24-24.5" waist.    Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

SOLD
# 6307 - c. 1930's Black Silk Dress with Green and White Beaded Design!  Lovely Diamond Seaming and Bias Cut!  A lovely 1930s beaded dress.  So... WHY so cheap?  Because, lucky you, I don't trust myself to sew anything, so I don't own a sewing machine.  I have two left thumbs... I usually sew buttons onto my pant leg when I attempt that, so best for me to stay away from any attempts.   As you may have found as well, many of the 1930s dresses were sewn with thread that seems to just become so brittle that it just comes apart.  The good news is that all this dress needs is re-sewing of the seams (along with the fact that it's impossible to get on completely sewn up, so you will want to keep the side open anyway and put snaps there).   I pinned the dress seams to photograph, but you will get it without those... it's easy to see what you need to do when you get it.  There is one small hole that is found UNDER the collar, so that's not an issue and there is a 1" extra tear at the upper back which will also need attention.  Easy fix there.  Sleeve hems need sewing up as well.   There are some beads missing, but those have stayed quite well... perhaps a different thread was used on those originally.  The only other thing to mention is that under very bright lights, you will see some difference in the colors of black (see upper photos).  Once you're done sewing, you'll have a heck of a lovely wearable 30s beaded dress! Bias cut so hard to measure, but approx. size 4.    Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 369h -  Victorian/Edwardian Off-White Gauntlet Tatted "Wedding" Gloves!  Do you know how hard it is to be both the model and the photographer... especially when I stupidly put this on my right hand, so I had to photograph as a lefty (I'm not).  Anyway, such a pretty pair of antique gloves!  I have a normal sized hand (for a 5'2" modern woman) and as you see, it goes on me, but it's pretty small (they were smaller back then!).   Love the little rosette at the gauntlet and the heavy tatting at the end.   Classic design glove with the three rows (wonder who first designed that!).  Excellent condition with just extreme minor dirt at fingertips and tiny, tiny red marks (see photos).  Came in with trousseaux set so likely wedding gloves!  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 369m -  Victorian/Edwardian Wedding Ring Pillow, Wedding Hanky and Embroidered Silk Monogram!  This is what the ring bearer would carry down the aisle with the rings sitting on top, or tied on with some of the ribbons (if you have a clumsy ring bearer!).  This pillow came with the trousseaux set, but it's in poor condition.... lots of satin shredding here and there (see photos) and the ribbons would need steaming to make it look prettier.  This piece will come with the original plain wedding hanky and the very poor condition pale green silk piece (which was likely the original lingerie case) also in shreds. But the "EB" is still good, so cut around it for display.  The wedding hanky is in good condition also with the embroidered "EB" at the corner.   So.... just know what you are buying here.   Priced for display.     Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 6427- c. 2000's Lilly Pulitzer Pink Linen Dress with Cutout Butterflies!  What's the best part of this dress beside the obvious beauty??  It's machine washable! YEAH!  Actually although I date it to 2000's, I have no idea of the date of this dress.  All Lilly Pulitzers look alike to me! All pink and green and classic styling. This one is especially pretty with small cutout butterflies in various directions floating on this empire waisted dress. Finished with pink satin ribbon.  High neckline with straps.  Back zipper.  Lined in white cotton.  Mint condition. Measures:  34" bust, up to 38" hips, 36" long from shoulder to hem. # 5468 - c. 1960's KOBREN, Made in Hong Kong Black Wool Beaded and Sequin Shell Top!  LARGER SIZE!  The best beaded and sequin pieces came from Hong Kong back in the 1960's... back when it was considered "the" place for tailors. This piece came from the same estate as many of the other beaded 1960's shell tops on this website.  This is a woman who loved to dress simply and throw on an overtop to "Dress"!  This piece would work over a dress, skirt/top or even with pants.  Check out the design to see the scallop beaded fringe design all over and beaded fringe at hemline.   These beaded shells were extremely popular in the 1960s.  Everyone wore them... and no surprise... they are just as fantastic today!  Measures:  up to 44" bust, up to 41" waist, up to 46" hips, 23-24" long from shoulder to hem.   Excellent condition.   Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

This piece came from the same estate as many of the other beaded 1960's shell tops on this website.  This is a woman who loved to dress simply and throw on an overtop to "Dress"!  This piece would work over a dress, skirt/top or even with pants.  Love the dangle beads around the hemline, cuffs, and double as a necklace around the neckline.  Excellent condition... though the back metal zipper looks SO heavy to me, that you might want to get a tailor to replace with a new clear zipper.  I don't happen to like the look of heavy zippers... but I know it's a trend again, so what do I know???? # 11376 - c. 1930's James McCreery & Co., Fifth Avenue, New York Black Velvet Coat with White Rabbit Trim!  I have this in the under $150 because there aren't hard to find, and this one is fairly small.  Simple black velvet slight puffed sleeves that just simply wraps around.  Collar can be worn up more asymmetrical, or not as you prefer. Shown on my 35/25/36" mannequin, it's really too small for her... you will want to be smaller to wrap the coat... and you won't want a wide back. Measures:  up to 36" bust (but best for less than 34" bust), up to 36" hips best, 45" long from shoulder to hem, with sleeves best for someone 5'2" or shorter.  The white fur may be rabbit or ermine, but it's a bit worn and there are minor stains in the lining of the coat, and some velvet crushing... mostly at back sleeve.  So.... it's nicely all affordable!   Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.    Also Listed in the Furs, Etc. # 5990 - c. 1960's Hartzfeld's, Kansas City Black and White Dress!  I'm a sucker for Black and White.  I attribute it to the fact that I'm reincarnated from a B&W cat.  OK.. I only slightly believe that, but something makes me think I can communicate with my two kitties!  :)  Oh well... before you think I'm insane, let's get back to this particular dress.  Black halter bodice with "v" neck, wide midriff striped satin waistband matching the wider skirt border and the white silk skirt.  GREAT!  And even more interesting is the upper back panel that gives the back a sexy open look. Now, I could stop there and tell you it's in Excellent condition, however... as you can see, someone during its lifetime needed the dress to be larger, so they inset black side panels.  So, it's not horrible (as some renovations might be), but it's obvious to those of you who care.  The good news is that it makes it a nice, wearable size now.... so stop your bellyachin'! :)  And if you REALLY can't stand it, you can revamp it again using additional striped material from the 2.5" hem and make the increase disappear from a distance!  OK... so currently measures: 34/35" bust, 26" waist (slightly high or empire).  41" long from shoulder to hem.  Metal zipper back.   Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 11146 - c. 1950's EVELYN VARON Model Brown Straw Large Hat with Wheat Sheath and Daisies!  A bit of whimsy in this large brown straw hat... at the back is unexpected small wheat sheathes and a few daisies.  So with this decor, a great hat for a summer outing.  I would have loved to have seen the original dress worn with this hat.  The dress must have been just as cute as this hat!  Excellent condition with just extreme minor reattaching of the wheat necessary. There is a netting over the hat at the front to also give it a whispy look. Evelyn Varon was a good designer name!  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 6726 - c. 2000's ALBERTO MAKALI, New York, Paris, Milano Black Draped Bustier with Beading!  Yeah, I know... I'm supposed to be selling antique and vintage items... but every once in a while, I get carried away with some really great new piece.  I envision all sorts of things you can do with this!  A strapless bustier, wrapped at the front with a long drape with a "spray" of small black beads.  That's it!  So, I'm thinking you can wear as is, or you can turn it into a halter top with matching or other color scarf or ribbon.  Or you can make straps with ribbons, or you can wear with ultra short bolero, or you can.... loads of things!!  Dress up, dress down.  Whatever you want.  A bit too small for this mannequin, so the side zipper will zip up all the way on you (not her - she needs to go on a diet). Measures:  33/34" bust,  28" waist. Mint condition. Marked size 4.  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

#5371A - c. 1980's Lille Rubin White Lace and Cream Colored Sequin Blouse with Original Camisole!  The only reason this blouse is priced so low is the discoloration at the back of the neck lace (see photo) which goes a bit into the one shoulder as well.  Haven't tried cleaning it.  Otherwise it's quite nice, pretty, frilly and romantic... that's what was popular in the late 1970's, early 1980's!  This came from the Lillie Rubin boutique shop.  They carried all sorts of designer pieces under their own label.  But I wouldn't say this was TOP designer quality, but VERY GOOD.  I'm very picky remember!!!  Measures: up to 40" bust (but no give to the fabric, so best to be a bit smaller), up to 37" waist, up to 43" hips,  with camisole with about a 34" bust - so you can see the blouse is meant to be worn loose and flowy. Rhinestone buttons up the front! The sequins are a slightly different color from the white lace which makes them stand out more.    Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 7376 - c. 1970's White Cotton and Lace "Mexican Wedding Dress"!  These white cotton and lace dresses were incredibly popular in the 1970s when the Edwardian whites were "in".  For those who didn't couldn't afford to buy an original 1910s dress, but still wanted the look, made these dresses made in Mexico as popular as they were.  Worn for weddings, but also as just great summer dresses.  They are medium weight cotton, so not for the hottest weather.  This one is in Excellent condition.  Ready to wear for whatever.  Measures: up to 36" bust, up to 28" waist, 50" long from shoulder to hem (meant to be worn mid-calfish... wear with your granny boots! :)  Back metal zipper.  When looking over this very carefully, I found two tiny spots that are hardly worth mentioning.  And since it's white cotton... this should wear well into the next century!  :) Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

If you don't know who either of these names are... check them out!  Two beauties from the era!!! :)  The hat is a black velour with black leather brim and as you can see a large flower burst leather "leaves" at the top.... with a top knot at the top!  Excellent condition!     Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 7132 - c. 1960's Henri Bendel, Paris, New York Red Wool Pompoms Hat Henri Bendel is an American upscale women's specialty store based in New York City.  Mr. Bendel was a milliner by trade, and was the first retailer to bring the designs of Coco Chanel over to the United States from Paris. The company he founded maintained this tradition of introducing influential socialites to what's new in fashion, so no surprise that this hat came from Bendels. ;)  Wild, wacky, unique design.  Certainly something that would get noticed!  From a museum deaccession.  Not sure if it was worn down over the forehead as I show, or more back of the head as was more the style in the 1960s.  Wear it however it looks best on you. Excellent condition.  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 7164 - c. 1950's Nassau, The Bahamas Vacation Dress! I always seek out unique "novelty" items!  Anything that just makes you smile. Bringing a bit of whimsy or fun in your wardrobe, though they still have to be attractive enough to wear. So how cool is this!  A simple white printed linen dress with "postcards" of Nassau, the Bahamas hotels, transportation and history lessons.  As I lifted from some website, "From those halcyon days – when Nassau was a top destination for affluent sailors, powerboaters and game fishermen."  SO sad that most all of these hotels are now gone. But this might just be the right dress for some of you with fond memories of these places. Measures:  up to 34/35" bust, up to 31" waist, up to 42" hips, 42" long from shoulder to hem, and 16" from shoulder to waist, but stills sits a bit short-waisted  - which isn't a problem, and if you are long waisted, you just wear a belt to bring down to your waist.  NOTE:  I'm 34" bust, 26" waist, 38" hips, and it looks great on me as well!  So you don't have to be the larger size above for this to fit beautifully.   Not true with many pieces.  May have been homemade, but nicely done.
For some reason I forgot to photograph the back, but it's nearly exactly the same as the front, with a back metal zipper.  The dress has a waist seam for shape, otherwise it's just a sheath.  Excellent condition. Unlined for warm weather. And unhemmed as you see, so will need to hem up where you want.  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

OK... so you didn't want to spend $5.4 million for the actual white halter dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in "The Seven Year Itch".... aka "The subway dress"?   Well... would you like a black version for a heck of a lot less??  This one is a nice weight black jersey and looks smashing on!  Hope you can see the detail of the large diamond shape at middle with all the gathering for a sexy shape. LOW "v" neckline, halter back.  Hidden side zipper.  Excellent condition.  Stretches so it's hard to measure, but it's labeled a size 2 which is about correct with today's sizing.  I measure as:  up to 34" bust, up to 27" waist, up to 36" hips, 42" long from shoulder to hem.  The dress is actually two layers, so it hangs beautifully.    Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 5370 - c. 1970's Made in Mexico White Cotton Gown with Pastel Embroidered Floal Design! In the 1970s, Edwardian white lawn dresses came back into vogue, and so did Mexican cotton gowns... many called Mexican wedding gowns. Here's one that is slightly different from the norm, but also from Mexico, 100% cotton gown.. this one with light pink and light aqua blue embroidered flowers at the front bodice and along the tabbed hemline and upper back!  The lace edged straps on this gown are VERY long though I'm not sure why... so I show the dress worn as a halter, but certainly it would just just as easy to shorten the straps to wear  straight over the shoulders.  The upper back of this gown have four  long embroidered ""scarves".  If you don't like them, the dress is plain under and you can just remove them.  I show them just hidden under in one of the photos, OR use the material to increase the size of this gown!!  Back zipper.  Excellent condition.  Measures: 35" bust, up to 25" waist, 17" from shoulder to waist (or shorten straps), 60" long from shoulder to hem. (6806)     Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 5361 - c. 1980's FERRAGAMO Red Suede Wedge Shoes with Gold Ornaments!  So these shoes still have the original price tag inside one of the shoes.  Original price of $245, reduced  to $171.97, then to $146.97, and finally to $122.50 when they were purchased... but as you can see, this label is hardly touched, so even though there is a bit of wear to the sole, and one dirt mark on one side of the toe, they were likely not worn more than once or twice.  So, I'm looking for Cinderella with a size 6.5A foot.  WHY??  As they are marked size 8AAAA??  Well, I have NO idea... all I can tell you is that I wear 6.5 M (with a slightly ever so wider than medium foot), and I can wear these (!) though they are just a slightly bit thin, but still not bad.  Perhaps a size 6A as well, as I guess they are perhaps a bit small as well, but it's hard to tell as my wider foot might be using up a bit of length.  Perhaps this is why they didn't sell at the higher price!  Mystery solved!  Even at this, the shoes are marked 8AA inside, but someone wrote 8 4A on the tag, and then continued to penmark in the additional two A's inside the shoes!!!  WHATEVER!  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.  .

# 6369 - c. 1947 FREDERICK & NELSON, Seattle Red Felt Tilt-Top Hat!  Ok... I'm gonna say it right here and now... this hat is "totally unique"!  So, now that I've said that... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop using those two words together!  I know it's become a huge part of modern American language, but it doesn't MEAN anything!  The definition of "unique" is "unique"... "one of a kind"... so to say "totally unique" is an "oxymoron" (a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction).  GOT IT??????? :)   Oh, and by the way, it's "SEQUINS", not "sequince" or my favorite, "seaquince"  Ahhhh.... OK... it's out of my system.  I'm better now.   SO... the hat you ask?  Red felt molded into a great shape, highlighted by two grosgrain ribbons at front. Meant to be worn as you see with a tilt.  Excellent condition.  Can be worn on a slightly larger than normal 22" head (this is the mannequin with a swelled head).   For all you RED HAT SOCIETY members!  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

#2473a - c. early 1970's Designer's Shop at Jordan Marsh Futura Couture of NY "Flower Power" Gown with Matching Overvest! Groovy is the only word to use. But this is from the "Designer's Shop", so it's was likely an expensive outfit when new. The floral bodice and matching sleeveless top are a sheer organdy-type fabric (though the top is double lined). The skirt is a nice weight Navy Blue Quiana jersey... nice feel and nice hanging fabric. Now when you add the overvest, it looks like you are wearing a jacket. It's really a great outfit... if you like the early 70's look! And since Pucci is so popular... I can't imagine other high quality 70's goods won't soon follow. I can't believe I like this... but I really do! And what's more.. my husband's father was Chairman of the Board of Jordan Marsh many years ago, so I love to keep the name of the department store alive! (Jordan Marsh was a major department store for about 100 years in Boston and Florida and was fairly recently taken over by Macy's - so now forever gone.. along with his mother's lifetime 20% discount! # 7126 - c. 1950's LESLIE JAMES Shocking Pink Two-Tone Straw Hat!  Black Cap Shape Hat!  Museum Deaccession.  Seems I'm not the only one who wondered about who Leslie James might be.  Well... it took a grandson and Past Perfect vintage posts to get this information:  Leslie James was a combination of James Druce (CEO) and Leslie George Masters, a former film actors in the 1930s at MGM who was encouraged to take up millinery design by the famous Gilbert Adrian. He created headwear for the likes of Greta Garbo, Norma Shearer and Joan Crawford. Eventually his hats were wholesaled to department stores.  The factory was based in Los Angeles with hundreds of employees.  In 1946 his hat prices retailed for $29.50 - $39.50.  Mr. Druce retired in 1954 and left the business to Leslie.  So now you know... if Leslie James designs were good enough for Greta Garbo and Joan Crawford.....   This one is a simple, basic shape stiff molded two-tone straw hat in hot pink and strong candy pink with that sweet "button flap" on the one side!   Seems the hat had a matching pink nose veil originally according to the museum tag.  I see one tiny possible area in the straw where is was attached (see photos).  I'm sure over time it just ripped to shreds (as they do), but the hat is still fabulous without it.  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

Now for the bad news... look at the photos and you will see the issues.  There is a hole in the fabric on that huge right lapel, there are two self covered buttons missing down the front, there is one other very minor wear in fabric hardly seen, and then the back skirt slit is torn (easy to fix with some seam binding). So because of all these issues, this wonderful suit is priced for sale! Measures:  up to 34" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 40" hips, 27" waist jacket, 23" long jacket, 26.5" long unlined skirt. Best for narrow backs.  Also Listed in the Under $150 category.    Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

# 11476 - c. 2004 DIANE VON FURSTENBERG (DVF) Brown Scroll Collared/Cuffed Retro Wrap Dress!  Jeanne Style!  As seen on Madonna!  So ... at first glance you might think this was one of the original Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dresses from the 1970's as it has the sharp lapel collar and the sharp cuffs that were on the original design... not to mention the classic wrap shape with long ties that bow tie at front.   I should know as I wore the originals back in the 1970s!  However, this is a retro dress created likely in 2004.... I date it to that year as there is a photo of Madonna wearing the exact same dress (same design, different color) in 2004 at a press conference in Israel for the launch of her children's book.  You can see... these hug the body and make everyone look terrific!!!    This one is labeled size 14.  Impossible to measure as it will wrap to fit you.    Excellent condition with the exception of one small light mark (see photo).   The only other thing to mention is if you have a sensitive nose (as I do), you will smell a slight left over scent of Paloma Picasso perfume.  Smells lovely.    Luckily it's one of those nice scents!!   It's certainly not anything that is overwhelming.  Rest assured.  Measures:  43" long from shoulder to hem.  Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

# 11401 - c. 2000 WHITTALL & SHON Black and White Straw Hat!  I cut out a photo from a magazine about 25 years ago with a B&W outfit and hat like this.  Loved it.  I don't really know the date for this hat... could  be anything from 1980's through today.  Classic shape, colors, design.  Excellent condition with just the most minor issue at the top crown.  I don't even know what to call it... perhaps just an extreme minor crush????   Hardly worth a mention, but I try to mention everything (see photo).  From the estate of a wealthy New York City woman who wore only Chanel, Armani (black label), Prada, Donna Karan (black label) etc.   The perfect wedding, church or Kentucky Derby hat!  Labeled as 22.5" size... so a bit larger than the normal 22" head... so great for those of you with larger head or lots of hair!     Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

So many different names for these great jaunty hats so popular in the 1940's.  Worn down over one eye, this one has the look you'd expect to see in a 40's movie!  Held on with back strap. This one is a teal blue/green and is pointed shaped "floppy" hat with a "bowl" at the top (please don't put your cereal and milk in it! :)  Has a terrific large iridescent black feather at back!  So you will look great coming and going.  Excellent condition with just a bit of makeup around the inside.  Under $150 so final sale.

# 5359 - c. 1970's CACHAREL, Made in France Floral Print Viscose Dress! This dress is marked 100% viscose... which moves like a silk just so you know.  LOVE the "trumpet" end tot the short sleeves... though hard to see the details in the print.... there is a matching attached tie belt which you can bow in front or back.  And unique detailing... there is a zipper on BOTH sides of the dress!  Ah, those wacky French designers!! :)   Measures: 33/34" bust (even though it can go up to 35" bust on this mannequin, it's awfully low necked at that bust!), up to 28" waist (slightly high or short-waisted), 51" long from shoulder to hem.  Excellent condition.   Don't think there is anything wrong here... it's just priced nicely at $145!   Under $150, so final sale.

# 2561 - c. 1910-1912 Edwardian Gown of Light Gray and Off-White Soutache Embroidery!  Yes, I know.  It's LOVELY!  But you know it's in the "Under $150" so that should raise the red flags.  And indeed.... there are issues.  The most serious is that of the tears in both underarms (see photos) and some rust on the right shoulder.  There are tears in the netting at front/collar as well, but that is often the case and can be backed with more netting and minor discolorations.  The material of the gown seems to be a cotton/linen blend, slightly sheer (you can see...even the sleeves which I stuffed with white tissue which you can see through).   The design of the dress is what you are buying and the lovely soutache embroidery. There are tiny little buttons and embroidery on the netting as well.  If you can figure out a way to deal with the underarms, (not seen when displayed) or use as a pattern, or whatever... it's indeed lovely! Measures:  35" bust, up to 25" empire waist, 58" long from shoulder to hem (including what seems to be 3.5" taken down from the original hemline).       Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 11669 - Victorian/Gibson Linen Petticoat with Name of the Original Owner Written Inside!  Millie Fisk! It's just a simple basic antique petticoat in a mid-weight heavy linen.  The hemline looks like just little "v"s, but if you look closely it's tiny embroidered leaves.  Excellent condition with jsut one area that needs re-sewing at the waistline.  I'd do it. It will take 5 minutes, but I hate to sew and I suck at it, so..  Measures:  23" waist, 40" long.  There are extreme minor discolorations.. I think... hard to even see!  This petticoat has loads of gathers and plenty of material to increase the size of the waistband and re-gather to fit  you!    Also listed in the 1850-1920s section.  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 11467 - c. 1907 White Linen 2-piece Embroidered Walking Dress!  WEARABLE SIZE!  So.... I don't clean.  If I did, I wouldn't have any time to sell, as each piece can take a week or so to soak to make perfect.  So I leave it to you.  This outfit should clean up beautifully.  As you can see, it has light staining all over, mostly on the skirt.  If you look at the pieces under normal interior light, you don't really even see the discolorations. But under brighter lights, it's obvious. Note: The pink sash doesn't come with the outfit, but it's just for show.  I'm sure you can find the perfect sash.  You might want to add a vintage collar as well to give this piece a bit more interest.   The embroidery is on the front of the bodice and on the skirt.  See close-up photos.   Beside the cleaning needed, it's in Excellent condition.  Substantial linen fabric... but not too heavy... and not too light...   Measures:  up to 40" bust (shown on a 35" bust and is fine on her as well), 30" waist, 42" long from waist to hem.    NEW LISTING!   Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 619 - c. late 1920's/early 1930's Black Silk Gown with Rhinestone and Faux Pearl Double Straps!  I love selling items in great condition... and this gown would be, but there are just a few tiny rhinestones/pearls missing (hardly worth an issue), but this gown was probably left in sunlight too long and under bright lights you will see the discoloration on the lower skirt hips and butt (see photos).  It's subtle, but certainly there in certain lighting situations, so.... for that.... I will price this dress at a crazy $145.  Someone should snap this up and just hang out in the dark. :)   There is interesting seaming in this gown, so I've lightened photos so you can see that. Measures:  up to 42" bust, up to 36" waist, up to 42" hips, 52" long from shoulder to hem.   Also listed in the 1850-1920s section.  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

Check out that left sleeve (at right in the photo, of course).  Yikes!  But if you are a fashion student, or a collector of Lilli Ann, or a wonderful restorer, well, I figured you might like this.  At least it's worth appreciating!   Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 7726 -  c. vintage Neiman Marcus Gray Print Velvet Smoking Jacket with Black Satin Trim!  I wish I could tell you what year this smoking jacket was from, but could be from just about anything from 1950s to today.  It's gorgeous.  Truth be told, I bought it for my husband to wear to a Xmas party.  However... it was a bit too small and short for him at 44L normal size (and he wasn't at his thinnest, so that didn't help!) :)  Anyway, I would suggest it's best for a 40 - 42 Short or 40-42 Regular (the sleeves are a bit short).  It's always better if these are larger than smaller.  The printed velvet is gorgeous!!!!!!  It's missing it's original belt.  I just used a black satin ribbon you can get at any fabric shop.  There is a monogram on the sleeve of "DG", so if those aren't your man's initials, just come up with a cute pet name for him.  ;)  I would love to say it's in Excellent condition... which it is throughout most of it, but there is a small fabric rip at the back of the armhole that just needs to be fixed.  It's hard to even see in the print, but it's there.  But that's why this is priced to sell!   Under $150 so final sale item.

# 11275 - c. 1933-1935 Black Knit Bathing Suit with White Buttons Decor! OK... first things first.... the white "belt" is just a ribbon I used to show you what it originally looked like with a belt.  Doesn't come with it.  But the bathing suit itself is great looking due to the white decorative buttons on both sides of bust and on shoulders.  The buttons have some wear (see photos) but could easily be painted back to the original look.  Now this bathing suit is dated thanks to my favorite website:  The Vintage Fashion Guild:  "The NRA (National Recovery Act) Blue Eagle label dates from 1933-1935 only. It was a voluntary program covering many consumer goods and was initiated by FDR. It was declared unconstitutional in 1935. This is the famous ‘Blue Eagle’ Label, seen only 1933-35 in USA. This label can be very handy for dating 1930s garments, accessories and even patterns."  Notice the "skirt" over the shorts.  Low "u" neck in front and even lower at back. Surprisingly NOT A MOTH HOLE to be found!!! You will see a few minor holes on the lining ONLY.  In a larger wearable size.  Lots of stretch!  So will fit 32" bust/34" low waist/40" hips OR will easily go up to 42" bust/40" low waist/ 44" hips.  Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 6373 - c. 1920's Wonderful Silk Lavender and Pink Fancy Garters with Ribbon Roses! OK, you can buy your friend one crappy new wedding garter for $20 for the bridal shower, or you can give her "something old" with an original set of fancy garters from the 1910-1920s!  These are especially fabulous with two-tone silk coloring... lavender on the outside and pink on the inside.   Finished off with 10 graduated colored ribbon roses.  I've seen other 1920's garters priced over $400, and, in my humble opinion, these are nicer! As with all the antique garters, the elastic is stretched out, so if you want to wear these, you will just need to tack in some new elastic. Or better yet, use these to create a framed wedding gift!  Excellent condition otherwise!   Under $150 so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 11701 - c. 1960's Sage Green Dress with Matching Jacket!  I was told this might be a Teal Traina.  There are no labels so I have no idea if this is true or not.  I question that... but I'm not the expert.  Anyway, I give you an unlabeled sage green waffle wool dress with matching jacket.  The jacket is cool as it can be buttoned to create a stovepipe neckline (I have a fondness for that 20's look!).  The jacket is what I like best here.  The dress has a spot that may or may not come out (I haven't tried), but look at the photos to see it right at center bust. So you are buying the jacket and the dress is being thrown in free!  Love the mod seaming of the neck of the dress, so if you can clean it, you win!  Measures: up to 40" bust, up to 36" waist, up to 44" hips, 42" long from shoulder to hem dress (though the hem is out, so one you hem up, it will likely be 40" long shoulder to hem).  Back zipper. Labeled size 14, but that's old sizing.   Also Listed in the 1930-Today Category.   Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

# 11188 - c. 1990's RICHARD K. TSAO Thai Silk Mandarin Cocoon Jacket/ Blouse!  The write-ups on Richard Tsao's designs reads: " IT TAKES ONE WEEK TO WEAVE 50 YARDS OF SILK SINCE IT IS STILL WOVEN ON THE OLD FASHION HAND LOOM. HENCE THE LITTLE KNOTS FROM TIME TO TIME. IT TAKES ABOUT ONE WHOLE DAY TO CONSTRUCT ONE COCOON JACKET. THE ELASTIC IS ACTUALLY SEWN ONTO THE SILK AFTER IT IS WOVEN.  PRODUCTION IS KEPT SMALL."  And "Richard Tsao is an artist.  He brings his artistic eye for color to his rich palette of silk designs. Tsao’s exquisite jewel-toned creations are evocative of the rich tropical hues of his native Thailand. The silk that Tsao uses for his designs is not mass-produced and does not undergo mechanized finishing treatments. Hand woven from hand spun pure silk yarn on old-fashioned looms, the painstaking process results in a lustrous fabric with a luxurious texture. It can take up to a year to hone each of his designs. This artisanal quality and attention to detail is part of Thailand’s rich arts and crafts tradition to which Tsao feels deeply connected."  His pieces are considered art.  They sell at Museums, and this exact color cocoon jacket (as he calls it) was highlighted at the Hammond Museum:  http://www.hammondmuseum.org/trunkshow.html, North Salem, NY.   The fabric is quite stretchy, so will fit a variety of bodies.   Wear ART!  Excellent condition. 26" long from shoulder to hem.  36" bust unstretched.  Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

# 7807 - c. 1960's REVILLON, Paris, New York Full Mink Bolero Jacket! So you know she had some great stuff.  OK... so... do you know Revillon?  They were sold at the high-end department store, Saks Fifth Avenue and have been in business for many many decades ... always known for quality furs.  This mink bolero with horizontal pelts gives the look of the more expensive sable and is of a sable color.  My damn camera has trouble photographing fur as the colors keep changing every time I click the shutter.... must have to do with all the undertones of the fur.  Anyway, the FIRST photo (click to see all the photos) is the closest to the actual color.. a soft warm brown.. not too red.  This jacket has a classic 1960's collar .. open ... think Jackie Kennedy with half sleeves.. think Jackie Kennedy wearing long gloves.   It's in Good condition..... there is a bit of wear at the collar (see photos) and probably wasn't stored in cold storage all its life, but it's still got plenty of good years ahead!   SO....  this is a BLOW OUT PRICE for a LOVELY, ORIGINALLY QUITE EXPENSIVE mink bolero jacket!!!!    FINAL SALE ESTATE ITEM.

# 6788 - c. 1980's RICHILENE, New York Black Sheer Netting Lined Dress with Gold "Glitter" Sold at the Specialty Shop Esther Wolf, Houston TX!  If you don't know this label, you can research yourself... but Richilene was a high-end label back in the 1970s and 1980s.  I have seen original price tags on vintage Richilene dresses and gowns for $800 - over $2000.  Again... that is $2000 - $5000 today!  So you know these are quality goods!  Black sheer netted full skirted dress with low "v" bodice. Back zipper.  The beauty of this dress is in the glitter design.  It's all over and will sparkle under the lights.  And the full skirt of 4 layers! Wear with or without a belt (none come with it, but it probably had a black belt with bow front.... at least that's what I imagine!).  Measures:  up to 40" bust, up to 30" waist, 40" long from shoulder to hem.  Shoulder pads (yup, the 1980s).  Excellent condition!  If you love it and it's too large, this is an easy dress to make smaller at back.  Just sayin'! :) And/or shorten to cap sleeves.  Whatever!!    Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

# 11422 -  c. 1850's "Atoms" Print Dress!  NOTE:  This dress is in poor condition, but man the presumed cotton woven fabric is fantastic!!  I call this my "atom molecules" dress.  Since the atom was discovered in the early 1800's, perhaps the fabric designer was a fan of modern science?  Or are these really balloons, or just pretty colored balls?  Whatever, it's a great historic fabric design.   The dress fabric has much wear to it as you can see from the photos, as well as a long tear down the front of the gown skirt front.  You are seeing a white petticoat under the skirt, so that's why it looks darker at the hemline... it's just the fact that the slip is shorter than the dress.  Hooks/eyes at front.   Seams were let out front bodice, but can easily be sewn back to the original smaller bust.   Under $150 so final sale item.

# 3364 - c. 1997 "Titanic" Movie Butterfly Haircomb!   NOTE:  IMPORTANTThis is NOT the J. Peterman Titanic Butterfly Comb.  However, I DO have two of those currently available for sale on the memorabilia page.. for A LOT more money!  This comb was purchased back in 2002 (hard to believe this is already 10 years old!!!).  It was never used so it's in as pristine a condition as it was when purchased.  Click on the photo to see the size of this compared to the J. Peterman comb.. this is much smaller.  You will also see that it's just a painted butterfly glued on to a scunci comb.  It sold for $60 back in 2002.  :)  Still a cute butterfly comb for those of you who want the look but don't want to break the bank! Excellent condition. Measures:  3" wide x 3.5" high.    Under $150, so FINAL SALE ITEM.

# 7519 - c. mid 20th Century Double Sable Boa!  This sable boa sold for $475 a year ago, but it wasn't put in cold storage, so it's shedding.  So... That means you get a double sable boa for $100!  Yup.  If you look at the back, you will see that it's lined and the pelts are connected to each other with thin black velvet ribbons which could be pulled tighter if you don't want to see the lining when worn.  Measures:  72" long x 8" wide.  No monograms or anything on the lining.   Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

# 5841 - c. 1980's Faux Fur Leopard Pencil Slim Skirt!  "Grrrrrr".  It's funny how some faux leopard pieces look so real (like this one) and others look so fake!  This one is a plush faux fur.  Trash it up, or wear with a twin set cardigan and you will look like a lady!  Very versatile wardrobe piece.  3 button lower back skirt so it's fairly tight when buttoned... so you'll get that wiggle walk.  If you unbutton, it can be worn more open at the back. Back zipper. Fully lined.  Measures:  30.5" waist, up to 39" hips, 24" long from waist to hem.     Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

# 11336 - c. 1908-1912 Brown Velvet Edwardian Dress with Embroidery!  So... looks so pretty, but it's got some problems, so it's here in the Under $150 section.  Lucky you! :)  The dress was very likely homemade back the early 1900s, as you can see from the interior.  The velvet is worn at the skirt (see photos) and there are some tears in the chiffon overlay of the yoke (bodice and sleeve back), and one small hole in the under layer of the yoke.  It's a fairly substantial slightly stiff velvet and waist to hem. The whole dress is just a bit sloppy (granted, I'm used to seeing fine Parisian fashions, so...).  Will need a few more hooks/eyes in the back.  Measures:  36" bust, up to 31" waist, up to 44" hips, 57" long from shoulder to hem. Shown on the size 6 mannequin, so it's a wearable size.  That's good!  Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

But should fit a 4/6.  Labeled size 40... but again, remember these are old sizings.  You'll need to wear a camisole under as it's sheer.  The buttons are unique (take a look at photos).  Great blouse to dress up or down.   Love the multi-button cuffs.  Under $150 so final sale.

# 11405 - c. 1930's CLOVER LANE Black Velvet and Feather Skull Hat!  Simple, basic design that will spring open to fit on your head.  Cute shape brim turned up at front and the feather is stuck through the hat, so if you want, you could change the feather to your liking.  This feather may have been longer at one point... seems a bit blunt at the end.   Still very wearable as is.  Excellent condition.  Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

# 11322 -  c. late 1940's Black Crepe 2-piece Dress Trimmed in Black Velvet!  Wow.... this is wacky!  Sure, you see the black velvet peter pan collar, but then you see the huge nearly turban shaped black velvet "pocket" at the side!!!!  I stuffed it with some tissue so you can see how full it can be, or if nothing is in it, it's flattened down.   NOTE:  the belt doesn't come with the dress!!!!!   I just thought it looked better with a belt, so just get one of your own.  Or not.  Whatever you like.  It's not necessary.   Long straight skirt.  Measures:  30" bust, up to 24" waist, up to 33" hips, 29" long skirt.  Quite small.  Good condition... you can see just a few very minor spots (could clean out), and a bit of sheen.  Button back.      Under $150 so final sale item.

# 5771A -  c. 1905 Ecru Lace High Neck Blouse!  This is one of those pigeon front shape blouses that that so easily evoke the early 1900 era.  As you can see, the shape is created from the tie and a pigeon front shaper would have been worn under.  Sweet puffed sleeves, extremely high neck.  Shown on my size 6 mannequin with 35" bust!  So it will fit a human today!  Always best to have a small neck with these pieces, though you can certainly add some lace to the back neck to enlarge if needed.  Lined in a sheer matching ecru silk chiffon which has a few tears (see photos) and bottom back (which tucks in), but the exterior lace is in great condition.     Under $150 so final sale item.

# 11391 -  c. 1850's Gold Silk Taffeta Dress with Bell Sleeves!  OK... NOT in the condition I like to sell dresses, so it's priced to sell for pattern or display or study or whatever... or even for the material (still in great condition).  There are underarm stains, there is a large stain to the bottom of the dress (see photo), there are hooks inside the bodice and yet there are buttonholes and buttons (some missing), one ripped buttonhole, so there was some renovation.  The skirt waist has likely been renovated as well, and there is one small section that needs better stitching. Measures: 30" bust, 24" waist, 14" from shoulder to waist, 42" from waist to hem.     Under $150 so final sale item.

# 7490 - c. 1940's FISCHER Pure Silk Palest Peachy Pink Silk Slip Nightgown!  Very collectable.  There are actual Fischer Silk collectors!!  I've actually sold a few to brides to wear as wedding gowns... that's how beautiful!  This one is no exception.  Flutter lace cap sleeves and lovely embroidered lace "v" bodice.  And lace at hemline.  Bias cut to skim the body.  So... this would be well into the hundreds if perfect condition... but as you will see from the photos, there are light (very light) age spots here and there.  If you don't need perfect, you should be thrilled to find this!  Measures:  57" long from shoulder to hem.  Impossible to measure as it will adjust to your body due to the bias cut.  But shown on a 35" bust, 25" waist, 36" hip mannequin.  Can go larger.    Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

# 11308 - c. 1940's Black Rayon Taffeta Gown with Black Sequin Bow and Net Yoke!  If  you remember what Rhett Butler told Mammy in Gone with the Wind, it was that women LOVE the rustling sound of taffeta.  And he bought her a red taffeta petticoat.  This is one of those rustle gowns.  Black gown with interesting "v" drop waistline, sweetheart neckline with netting yoke... and then the pretty black sequin bow at front.  Side metal zipper.  Excellent condition.  Nothing wrong... but if you don't need a black gown, you might want to consider shortening this one to a dress length.  I generally hate suggesting that vintage dresses be renovated, but this one would get more wear if short. Measures:  up to 36" bust, up to 28" waist, 58" long from shoulder to hem.     Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

# 7137 - c. 1950's Natural Straw Colored Floral Wide Brim Hat From a museum deaccession and still has the original museum hangtags.  Lovely, floppy straw large brim hat with large silk flowers.  However, as you will see from the photos, there is a "bite" out of the edge of the brim at front.  Check it out.  That's why this hat is in the Under $150 category.  So... get creative with a little trimming... a green velvet ribbon diagonally draped on the brim?  Smaller matching silk flowers scattered on the brim?  Use your millinery design sense to make it your own.  Still a great vintage straw hat from a museum !!   Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

# 9687 - c. 1960's HAUTE COUTURE INT'L, Made in Hong Kong Gold Silk Crepe Gown Covered in Gold Fringe Beads with Matching Gold Silk Satin Bubble Coat with Matching Bead Trim!  Every so often, I put something in this UNDER $150 category that should be MUCH more expensive.... but I'm so picky about selling items that are in near perfect condition, that when they don't live up to my expectations, I blow them out and know that someone will love it for this price!     WAS listed over $400.    Gold silk sleeveless sheathe gown covered all over with gold beads in "fringe tassels" design.. which will move with you!  Low "u" neck in front and lower in back. Now look at the photos as I hiked up the dress in some of the photos so you can see what it would look like as a "flapper dress"!  You can baste up and wear like that one night... and then remove the basting and wear long and sleek for another night!  Metal zipper back of dress. Over the dress comes the matching gold silk satin coat/cape with short "sleeves" with great matching bows! And more beaded longer fringe at the back collar of coat.  The coat doesn't close and as you see, it's a HUGE shape at back... very fashion forward for the era!  Meant to be worn as a "wrap".   It's up to you to figure out how to stand and hold to look fashionable.  The coat seems to have an inner lining of pellon, so it's stiff and slightly "crunchy" sounding.  There are some beads loose/missing, but there are so many, it's hardly an issue.  Slight dirt around the hemlines.  And yes, there is one spot I found on the back of the coat (see photo), and really the only other issue with the coat is crinkling of the satin where it was stored against the beading. Measures about 35/36" bust, about up to 38" hips.   Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

# 5379 - c. 1970's W. BERESFORD 384, Rue St. Honore, Paris  Black Sheer Silk Chiffon Ruffled Blouse!  First off, the black belt doesn't come with this blouse, but I wanted you to see how it might look either tucked in, or with a belt of your choice. Tu comprends?  Whoops... I'm starting to write in French.... must be the blouse!!! :)  Excellent condition.  This came to me from the estate of a wealthy women on Long Island, NY.   She purchased many of her pieces in Paris!  I know as I have the receipt for a few of them.  The receipt below is NOT from this estate, but just a photo I found online to highlight the fabulousness of this label!  This large store seemed to specialize in blouses all the way back to 1921 (the date on this receipt).  The store closed at some point after the 70s as the address is currently "John Galliano".  I also found a newspaper article from 1949 which read, "English designer Beresford, who has a shop in Rue Fabourg Saint Honore, shows a window full of wonderful blouses".  So obviously this is quality!  Ready to wear.   This would have been very expensive when new.    Under $150 so final sale.

Excellent condition. Ready to wear. Marked size 8, but that's an old size and the 70's blouses fit tighter, so if you want today's comfort, better to be about a 2/4.   Under $150 so final sale.

# 9762 - c. early 1960's Brown Silk Shantung Dress with "Overskirt"! You know I love these dresses with overskirts!  Some are detachable, some are fully attached, as is this..  And you may also know that BROWN is being shown all over the magazines for this fall! So.... it kills me to put this dress in the Under $150 category.  However, when an item has some flaws, you win!!!  So.. pay attention and move fast!  Gorgeous color.  The dress has no labels, but obviously well-made and expensive fabric. The flaws are shown in the close-up photos. There are some light marks near the hem of the dress in front, and some watermark spots on the dress in the front bodice.  Nothing is jarring, and the watermarks are only seen in some lighting situations,  but they are flaws. 3/4 length sleeves.  High neck. And the dress is small - too small for my mannequin so the back is open, but Measures: 32" perhaps 33" bust, 24" at natural waist, up to 34" hips.  The dress was VERY professionally taken in about 2" everywhere, so can be let out if necessary... even hemmed up about 2" to 26" long from waist to hem. Under $150, so final sale.

# 11420 - c. 1920's Blush Blue/Gray Chiffon Beaded Flapper Dress! Trim!  OK....  there's a reason this dress is in this category under $150.  The condition is poor.  Got that???  Poor. There are rips in the shoulders and a longer rip in one side underarm.  There are underarm stains so the fabric is weak there.  There are light discolorations throughout. Some beads missing. There is a slip attached which isn't shown at top, but it's there... needs straps fixed.  Really this dress isn't wearable, unless you do major work/redesign.  But it's great for the beadwork, pattern, research.    Under $150, so Final Sale Item.

# 7516 - c. 1980's EVELYNE MANDEL, Paris Red and Off-White "Thierry Mugler" Look Jacket!  Oh come on!!!!  You can't tell me that this isn't a Thierry Mugler!!!  Well, it isn't.  Shocked me!  It's Evelyne Mandel (also from Paris) and from the same era... but my god, it's just remarkable how it screams Mugler!  So... since Mugler are priced high, you can get the look for less here.   ;)   However, there are a few tiny condition issues.... I show all in the photos.  There are two tiny (asshole) moths who got to this. One in the front near the snap, and one in the back upper sleeve.  And there are a few very minor light spots... some down one sleeve, and the other on the off-white collar.  These may come out when dry-cleaned, but that's for you.  My job is to FIND the great stuff!!  Excellent condition otherwise.  Measures: 34" bust, up to 28" waist, 23" long shoulder to hem.     Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

# 5767 - c. 1950's Van Raalte Nylon Blush Pink "Letty Lynton" Nightgown! Go ahead and look up "Letty Lynton" if you don't know what that means.  It was a movie starring Joan Crawford in 1932 with gowns designed by Gilbert Adrian.  One of the gowns was a very frilly ruffled number that was so beloved, that Macy's ended up selling 500,000 copies of it, and Edith Head called it, "The single most important influence on fashion in film history"!  Decades later, the look of that gown still enchanted and clothing still influenced by that dress.  This nightgown is one.   Evoking that look with the wide sheer ruffled "wing" collar and the sheer ruffled hemline.  Pink lace trim at bodice and around skirt bottom. Open "v" at upper sides.  A lovely nightgown!  Came from the estate of a high-fashion model of the 1950s-1960s! Excellent condition with one small nearly invisible spot at mid waist (see photo).  Measures: up to 42" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 42" hips, 58" long from shoulder to hem.    Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

Side metal zipper on skirt.  Cuffed sleeves.  Great "v" design at front of jacket, and interesting double vertical decorative "slashes" at upper right jacket!  Measures: up to 38" bust, up to 26" waist, up to 38" hips.  If you love Irene and can't generally afford a perfect one, well.....  Under $150 so Final Sale Item.

# 5150 - LANVIN, Paris Silk Scarf of Swags and Tassels ! This scarf has a bit less "heft" than the Made in Italy scarves. # 5151 - LANVIN, Paris Silk Scarf of Animals! Sadly I am at a loss for words to describe the design on this scarf!   It looks lovely as you can see from afar... but as you zoom in on the design it starts to look like the designer was high on drugs when he/she created this! :)  There are oak leaves and acorns in the center and then the list of animals include:  cat, owl, rabbit, eagle, chicken, dog, lobster, rat, turtle, lion, squirrel, porcupine, cricket, birds, turkey, ox... and more! And then (for good measure) two women... one clothed, one topless!  Whoo-whoo!  Colors are deep rose, muted plum, with rose, blue, purple and army green edged in black with gold. Measures: 34.5" x 34.5". Excellent condition. May not have been worn... still has what seems like original folds.  Under $150 so final sale.

# 4976 - c. 1890 B. ALTMAN & COMPANY, New York Pink Broche Boudoir Slippers! If it wasn't for the darkening of the back of these slipper shoes, they would be considered Excellent condition.  But it seems that whatever they used for gluing in the heel of these shoes bled through the lovely pink brocade (or broche). Pink chiffon and pink satin flower decorations adorn the front of the shoes. Quilted interior sides. So pretty. These might fit you if you have a very thin foot.  Measures: 10" long x 2.5" wide. As you can see, there is all sorts of fabric weakness and one large hole at the mid-skirt (see photos).  The underarms have staining as well.   If you can stabilize, then you have a lovely display gown.  Shown on the size 6 mannequin, so it's a decent size for an antique gown of up to 36/37" bust, up to 28" waist, up to 40" hips, 57" long from shoulder to hem in front, 66" long in back.  Labeled M. # 7604 - c. 1980's "Karin Stevens" Floral Cotton Off-the-Shoulder Dress!  This was when the 1980's dresses evoked the 1950's... no huge padded shoulders on this!  I put Karen Stevens in quotes as there is no label, but I have seen this dress before with the label so....  Not a high-end label, but still a damn pretty dress, so it gets a place on my website.  I'm very picky, so you know I have to love a dress.  The cap sleeves and sweetheart neckline bodice are boned.  there are also thin straps.  The back is fully smocked with elastic for a great fit.   Also quite comfortable!  Has pockets at the sides. Yea! Zipper back.
