#6070 - c. 1930's Royal Blue Silk Velvet Gown with Matching Ruched Long Cape!  I'm sure you figured out already that there's a reason that this wonderfully beautiful outfit is in this "under $150" category.  Well, in truth there are a lot of reasons.  It's got problems...  so it's best for a costume or a pattern.  The shape of the bias gown is well worth duplicating, and the cape (if you have the seamstress skills) is killer!  The most glaring problem is the fact that the cape bottom is discolored (from years of dirt?)... you can see it in the photos... it has a brown overtone.  The lining of the cape is starting to go (see photos), there are underarm stains on the dress, stains and rips at the hemline, some crushing of velvet and some ripping of straps. There is a missing belt on the dress (as there are belt loops).  Yadda, yadda, yadda.  I paid $295 for this outfit from afar (thinking the condition was better than it was). Damn I love the look!!!   Measures: 32" bust, up to 25" waist, up to 34" hips. NEW LISTING! Under $150, so final sale.

#9893 - c. 1930's Sheer Floral Chiffon Dress with Brown Velvet Tie Belt and Original Separate Slip!  Once again, pretty dresses end up in this "under $150" category for a reason.  Sadly.  This gown is a lovely ecru and pastel floral print silk chiffon, but it has issues.  The worse is at the hemline where someone caught a heel a few times with some light spotting there at back hem. The slip has underarm stains (see photos)... it's just the slip.  There is a bit of weak fabric at the collar where there are 2 small holes at right. All this sounds worse than it is... especially for this price!!  The belt is way cool... part brown velvet and then ties at front with the matching floral chiffon.  Ecru lace trim around the large shawl collar.  I really have NO idea how it's supposed to hang at front... perhaps with a pin, or just leave hanging.  (I Should know these things by now!!)  Measures: 35" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 34" hips, 54-57" long from shoulder to hem.   NEW LISTING!  Under $150, so final sale.

#9449a - c. 1960's Empire Chiffon Print Gown! Turquoise blue, green and white wild "Laugh-in" 60's printed chiffon gown.  Yeah, I know that many of you aren't old enough to know what "Laugh-in" was, but trust me.... this is the best way to describe this look!  Goldie Hawn, Joann Worley, Judy Carne.... they all would have looked right at home in this gown.  You can use a ribbon tie at the empire waistline if you want.  Excellent condition. Measures: 35" bust, 30" underbust/empire waist, 55" long from shoulder to hem, 13" from shoulder to waistline.  Nude rayon underslip attached.  Back metal zipper.  Silk lined. #9479a - c. 1970's POSH by Jay Anderson Deep Rose Print Chiffon Gown!  Pretty muted chiffon floral print gown.  Simple shape which could easily be shortened to a dress length if you prefer.  Lined in silk everywhere but sleeves are left sheer. Comes with matching sash for tie belt.  Nylon zipper at back. Excellent condition with only one silly thing to report..... there is the tiniest white edge on a bit of the sash (did she brush up against some whiteout?).  It just needs to be tied so you can't see it.  Big deal! Measures: 38/39" bust, up to 28/29" waist, 58" long from shoulder to hem.  NEW LISTING!   Under $150, so final sale.

#4622 - c. 1950's ADELE SIMPSON Double Breasted Tweed Spring Coat! OK, I cheated and added the belt to the coat for the photo.  I personally look better in belted pieces, so it's just a reflex.  Doesn't come with a belt, so you can do whatever you want! :)  Great either way. Cute little black leather buttons enhance the double-breasted design. Sweet little collar.  Tweed gives the coat a very classy feel.  Excellent condition exterior. The black silk lining is torn quite a bit under the arms, so will need patching. This coat still has the museum tag inside!  Can't tell you which museum it's from, but it's there!  Measures:  up to 40" bust, up to 39" waist, up to 43" hips, 42" long from shoulder to hem. Sleeves are 7/8 length (bracelet length) on me at 5'2"... perhaps a bit shorter on you.  Even with the measurements, seems to fit a 8 best and a size 6 if you like your coats large (with the belt that's fine for a size 6).   NEW LISTING! Under $150, so final sale.

#6691 - c. 1990's CACHE Floral One Shoulder Rayon Gown with Low Back!  I rarely sell "new" , non-designer pieces.  But some are just so pretty that I can't resist.  So just let me play!  OK?   See if you agree with me that this was worth breaking my rules. From Cache.  Looks like something Beyonce would love!  Looks great on.  The open back is asymmetrical (cool!) with that "bra" strap at back (slightly elastic).  Bias cut so will fit a few different sizes... it's really just the bust that needs to be within 33/34".  Measures:  33/34" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 40" hips, 62" long from shoulder to hem. Labeled Size 6.  NEW LISTING!   Under $150, so final sale. Also listed in the 1930-Today Category.

#6086 - c. 1905 White Cotton Slightly Trained Petticoat!  This petticoat came in the same lot as the one below.  As I usually favor the very fancy, lacy petticoats which are usually too beautiful to be worn underneath.  This is... a petticoat! Plain with just a hint of detailing in the eyelet lace at hemline.  Midweight cotton.  Nice white, crisp, ready to wear.  Excellent condition with only a few issues... four small rust spots (see photo for example).  As you know.... the right undergarments are SO important in making your clothing look right... so if you need an antique petticoat to make your antique dress look perfect... this is what you need!  Measures:  25" waist, 37.5" long in front, 43" long in back. #6373 - c. 1920's Wonderful Silk Lavender and Pink Fancy Garters with Ribbon Roses! OK, you can buy your friend one crappy new wedding garter for $20 for the bridal shower, or you can give her "something old" with an original set of fancy garters from the 1910-1920s!  These are especially fabulous with two-tone silk coloring... lavender on the outside and pink on the inside.   Finished off with 10 graduated colored ribbon roses.  I've seen other 1920's garters priced over $400, and, in my humble opinion, these are nicer! As with all the antique garters, the elastic is stretched out, so if you want to wear these, you will just need to tack in some new elastic. Or better yet, use these to create a framed wedding gift!  Excellent condition otherwise!   Under $150 category, so final sale.  Also listed in the Lingerie Category.

#6085 - c. 1907 "Justine's" Crisp Clean White Cotton Slip with Popcorn Embroidered "Hydrangea"! Any Justines out there?  This slip could have been part of a trousseaux as her name is embroidered just above the bow.  It's white on white embroidery so it's subtle, but there.  So sweet.  So if your name isn't Justine, just consider it to be the name of this slip.  After all... don't you name ALL your vintage clothes?  :)  Look at the close-up photos of the embroidery.  Very sweet! Tiny bits of lace peeking out the hemline.  The light blue satin ribbon is new.  Best of both worlds... tailored waistline at front and gathered drawstring at back, so it WILL fit you, but still look "clean and neat" at front waist.  Gives a little extra fullness at back as well for your skirt. Measures: 24" - 30" waist, 35" long in front, 37" long in back.  Excellent condition. Under $150, so final sale.  Also listed in the Lingerie Category.

#9945 - c. 1950's RAPPI Grayish Teal Blue Taffeta Dress!  A wonderful dress, but it's one of the smallest I have ever had from the 1950's, so probably best for your young teenage girl.  I'm showing it on the size 2 mannequin and you can see that the back is FAR from closing! Measures: 29/30" bust, 22" waist, 29" long from waist to hem. Rappi was a fairly good label, this dress has a cotton crinoline under.  Excellent condition.  Lovely tie front.  Comes with the original thin belt.  So break out the tape measure to see if this will fit... if so, you get a steal at this price.  NEW LISTING! Pink chiffon and pink satin flower decorations adorn the front of the shoes. Quilted interior sides. So pretty. These might fit you if you have a very thin foot.  Measures: 10" long x 2.5" wide. #9949 - c. 1940's Platform Shoes of Black Suede with Cutouts, Slingback and Peep Toe!  These came from the same estate as the other 1940s shoes listed below... but those are in near perfect condition... these were obviously worn a bit more.  They have a few issues... the suede needs a cleaning as you can see the water mark on the side.  And the other issue is that the sole has a tear in the leather at back (see photos) which makes the heels ever so slightly weak. Check out the beading design at front.  Even though they are labeled size 7.5aaa, I show them on my size 6.5 slightly foot so you can see they fit me... just a bit too large.. so I'd say a size 7 would be fine. I'd give you the measurements, but they really mean very little... it's all about how it fits. These need to be in your closet!  NEW LISTING!  Under $150, so final sale.

#9780 - c. early 1970's EXIT I Double Breasted Black Wool Knit Jacket!  Ah, this jacket takes me back in time to my "hippie" years.  I put hippie in quotes since I was never a true hippie.  It was my twin sister who wore the ripped jeans and went braless.  I was the "good girl" and still wanted to dress up, so I browsed at Paraphernalia (couldn't afford them) and shopped at the cheaper "5-7-9" shop in the Walt Whitman Mall, Huntington, New York.  I wore lots of knits and minidresses to show off my bod.  Anyway, this was the kind of jacket I would have certainly coveted.  Covered up, but sexy "v",  body hugging empire wide waist, and slimming over my ample hips.  I even thought about keeping this now for my wardrobe, but it's a bit too small, so... lucky you.  Excellent condition with just one dry-cleanable spot on back.  Measures: 33-35" bust, 27-29" waist, 29-31" underbust,  (larger measurements listed above can be had by just moving hooks a bit), 30" long from shoulder to hem.  Unlined. #6369 - c. 1947 FREDERICK & NELSON, Seattle Red Felt Tilt-Top Hat!  Ok... I'm gonna say it right here and now... this hat is "totally unique"!  So, now that I've said that... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop using those two words together!  I know it's become a huge part of modern American language, but it doesn't MEAN anything!  The definition of "unique" is "unique"... "one of a kind"... so to say "totally unique" is an "oxymoron" (a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction).  GOT IT??????? :)   Oh, and by the way, it's "SEQUINS", not "sequince" or my favorite, "seaquince"  Ahhhh.... OK... it's out of my system.  I'm better now.   SO... the hat you ask?  Red felt molded into a great shape, highlighted by two grosgrain ribbons at front. Meant to be worn as you see with a tilt.  Excellent condition.  Can be worn on a slightly larger than normal 22" head (this is the mannequin with a swelled head).   For all you RED HAT SOCIETY members!  Under $150, so final sale.

#9555 - c. 1970's Metallic Knit Stripe Gown! I think I had something similar to this in high school. Back in the days of the "granny gown". Boy I thought I was "hot"! Mine was ankle length and I wore my sexy boots with it. Sometimes I wonder why my Mother let me out of the house the way I dressed! This gown is less sexy and a lot cute! Metallic threads are used to knit the striped top and matching cardigan sweater and then the skirt, cuffs and trim are a matte black knit. Certainly draws attention! Would look great hemmed up as well, so you can decide if you want this as a gown or dress. Measures: 32-34" bust, 27" waist, up to 37" hips, 44" long from waist to hem. #9451 - c. 1960's MOLLIE PARNIS Silk Satin on Nylon? Sheer Dress Yellow and Light Blue! Very interesting and unique fabric. I've had one other dress like this, but I couldn't describe that fabric any better than I will attempt to do here. It's a semi-sheer nylon (?) woven with silk satin pattern. I know... you have no idea what I'm trying to describe. Sorry! It's fabulous... how's that??? Rarely seen color combo. Matching fabric belt with bow front. Cuffed sleeves. Tiny, short standup collar. This is one great feeling fabric! Yellow silk lining. Excellent condition, but with some minor pulls in fabric. Measures: up to 39" bust, 32" waist, up to 45" hips, 25" long from waist to hem. Marked size 14, but it's not anymore! I'd say size 10 due to the tightness at back (we wear our clothing looser today!). So sorry for the wrinkles at the hemline! Just getting lazy! #9487 - c. 1960's Floral Organdy Gown! I've recently seen a new Leonard, Paris gown that supposedly sold for $4500 and the coloration and floral design was incredibly similar to this 1960's gown! So what's old is new again! A voile/organdy type material in pinks, turquoise, greens and golds and lined in white. Back zipper. Has a white lace hemtape that I know Lilly Pulitzer uses, but there is no designer label. I'm going to assume that it's actually a POSH by Jay Anderson dress since the neckline matches another dress with that label. The Jo Robinson Inc., Delaware label is the store where Ms. Dupont bought most of her clothes! Measures: 39" bust, up to 30" waist, up to 40" hips, 58" long from shoulder to hem. So pretty to wear to a summer wedding! Add a belt if you wish! Excellent condition. Also Listed in the Special Category.  Under $150, so final sale.

#4193 - c. 1980's ANDREA JOVINE Black Lightweight Wool Knit "Rumba" Dress! I was amazed when I put this dress on! It looks adorable! I even went down to show my husband who remarkably said "cute dress"! He never says stuff like that! Usually he says things like, "Are you going to wear THAT?"... or "Don't you have something a bit more (fill in the blank) to wear?". Or sometimes he just cringes... like when he saw my new bright pink raincoat (which I thought was quite fashionable). So, see if your guy likes this dress! Hard to measure as it's all stretchy knit, so will fit a variety of bodies. Under $150, so final sale.

#9269 - c. 1930's Jeweled Frame Petit Point Purse Floral Purse!   Very pretty little purse, but more of the "run-of-the-mill" quality, yet from the same prestigious Beverly Hills estate as the museum quality purses! This purse features a goldtone jeweled frame, yet half of the jewels are unfortunately missing.  The floral scene is the same front and back and has likely faded over time to a muted palette,, and it's ever so slightly worn at the bottom. The blush silk grosgrain lining has a few minor marks.   The frame closes tightly with the distinctive click. Not sure if the frame is original to the purse as there are unused holes in the frame for stitching. Hmmm. Measures approx. 6" high x 7" wide with 17" chain. This is the purse you can use without worrying about ruining a museum quality piece! Just a lovely 1930's pettipoint purse to enjoy!   Also great for the beginning collector!  Under $150, so final sale.

#4840 - c. 1990's "BALENCIAGA", Paris Black Satin Purse with Red Satin Bow and Interior! Oh my god!  A Balenciaga purse for $20????  Well... not quite... although it has a lovely Balenciaga label prominently displayed... it's a knock-off. And if you dig deeply into the purse, there is another tiny label with the fabric content.. and in tiny letters.. "Made in China".  So there you go!  Still a lovely piece, just feels "cardboardish".  SO... for some relative you like, but not that much, it's a great Xmas or Birthday gift!   It will still attract attention and complements, and only a few need to know it's not the real thing! Measures: approx. 6" x 8" Under $150, so final sale.

#4139 - c. 1940's Floppy "Gone with the Wind" Straw Hat! "Fiddle-de-de"! I know this isn't as large a floppy hat as Scarlett O'Hara wore in the opening scene of GWTW, but it certainly has the same feel without looking too comical! Great "w" design in the straw. Dark brown velvet ribbon trim could certainly be replaced with green taffeta to be "oh so Scarlett". Excellent condition even though the crown is slightly misshapen (it will reshape on your head) and the brown velvet ribbon is tired. Under $150, so final sale.

#9260 - c. 1950's Bullock's Wilshire Green Straw Portrait Hat with Green Netting! I think this hat is meant to be worn even more tilted so the top is horizontal to the ground. Looks great on.. just sits on top of the head (22" head size is fine... but as it "perches", it won't stay on without the attached original hat pin). Huge 19" diameter. Great fun! Excellent condition, though you can see that some of the green has worn off some of the straw, but yet, it looks like it's supposed to have the gradations, and it is fairly uniform, so it looks right as is! Under $150, so final sale.

#9861 - c. 1960's SOPHIE Green Blue and Black  Brocade Dress with Matching Jacket! Larger Size!Yup, that's THE Sophie... highly renowned  in-store designer for Saks Fifth Avenue. Her garments sold for top dollar!  I generally deal in fancier pieces, but hey.  Unique fabric like a brocade in a design reminiscent of a "futuristic" computer punchcard!  Some of you may be too young to even know what I'm talking about.  Sad.  I'm sooo old!  The dress is a plain A-line, short sleeve with back zipper. The matching jacket has a rounded neckline design, 1/2 glove sleeve length, self-covered buttons down front, pockets at front.  Very good condition with one spot found hiding in the print near the neckline at front.  Nothing else wrong except just seems like this one could use a sprucing up at the dry-cleaner as it's a bit dirty inside collar lining.  Measures: 40" bust, up to 38" waist, up to 44" hips, 40" long from shoulder to hem, 18" long jacket.  Dress is fully lined in apple green so soft silk.  Jacket is lined in a moss green silk crepe. Saks being one of her favorites. This is a simple short sleeved dress with matching collared jacket.  The material is an interesting pattern, likely double knit that stretches on the dress, but not much on the jacket as it is lined.  Very Good condition with just one of the rounded black buttons missing on the jacket and barely a hint of dirt at the dress neckline in one area.  Measures:  40" bust, up to 38" waist, up to 44" hips, 39" long from shoulder to hem, 22" long jacket from back neck to hem. Jacket only is lined. Labeled Size 18, but that's old sizing.  NEW LISTING! Under $150, so final sale.

#4692 - c. 1940's Cranberry Wool Gabardine Interestingly Tailored Suit! Larger Size! I always try to find great vintage clothing in wearable sizes. Really! I know you see too many 2's and 4's.. but they are just easier to find. So.. if you see the larger sized items you like... scoop them up! Fast! :) How's this? Fairly simple shape, but with unique seaming/tailoring. Bib shape at front and inverted bib shape seaming around the slash pockets at jacket sides. Cuffed sleeves. Nice button placement. Flattering collar lapels. The color is a bit lightened for the photos, but the hue should be close to correct (though all monitors are slightly different... I try VERY hard to get the colors to match as closely as possible in the photos so my customers are happy when the garments arrive! Measures: up to 40" bust, 30" waist, 17" across back, 18" across padded shoulders, 27" long jacket from back neck to hem, 23" long skirt. Crepe lining. #9746 - c. 1950's Black Satin Strapless Gown!  Think Princess Diana! Lovely ankle length black satin dress with "crumb catcher" boned bodice and bustline, then gathered up at one side from which a side train falls.  This was likely a knock-off of a designer dress, as the quality is more that of a mid-priced garment rather than a beautifully made designer gown.  However, from the exterior, you'd never know! Excellent condition with just a tiny hint of deodorant residue.  I doubt you would have even noticed it if I hadn't mentioned it.  The only real issue is the size of this gown... TINY!   Measures:  32" bust with only 14" across back, 23" waist, up to 33" hips, 36" long waist to hem in front, 45" long to the end of the train. Side metal zipper.  Under $150, so final sale.

#9762 - c. early 1960's Brown Silk Shantung Dress with "Overskirt"! You know I love these dresses with overskirts!  Some are detachable, some are fully attached, as is this..  And you may also know that BROWN is being shown all over the magazines for this fall! So.... it kills me to put this dress in the Under $150 category.  However, when an item has some flaws, you win!!!  So.. pay attention and move fast!  Gorgeous color.  The dress has no labels, but obviously well-made and expensive fabric. The flaws are shown in the close-up photos. There are some light marks near the hem of the dress in front, and some watermark spots on the dress in the front bodice.  Nothing is jarring, and the watermarks are only seen in some lighting situations,  but they are flaws. 3/4 length sleeves.  High neck. And the dress is small - too small for my mannequin so the back is open, but Measures: 32" perhaps 33" bust, 24" at natural waist, up to 34" hips.  The dress was VERY professionally taken in about 2" everywhere, so can be let out if necessary... even hemmed up about 2" to 26" long from waist to hem. Under $150, so final sale.

#9479 - c. 1960's Blush Pink Embossed Gown! I have to confess... I needed a wedding party gown to wear for a staged reading of a play I was in, and this was the gown that worked perfectly.  Looked great on... and got many compliments.   It's a blush pink gown of a unique embossed cotton/linen fabric. Sweet satin rope belt with "bow". Perfect length little cap sleeves will make your arms look their slimmest. If Audrey wore pink, she would own this. Wonderful for a summer evening.. or even for a bridesmaid. Measures: 35" bust (wide shoulders best!), 27" waist, 39" hips, 56" long from shoulder to hem. 2.5" hem if necessary. Inner waist corset, pockets at front. There is a slight dirty line across back (like she leaned up against something - see photos).. and slight hemline dirt. I can't imagine that wouldn't dryclean out, but I'm afraid I can't dryclean every gown as I would go broke! So I priced it very low so you can do your own dry-cleaning! :)  Hem it up a smidge to a perfect hemline. Also Listed in the Special Category.  Under $150, so final sale.
