Yeah I know, I mention her a lot when trying to describe the quintessential Mod girl, but really, she was the best! Here's a great wool twill dress, red at top and black at bottom and attached neckpiece. Amazingly, this dress zips up the front under the flap which buttons just above the breast. I've shown the dress with a belt in some photo just so you can see what it might look like (no belt is included). The dress is shaped for a gal with a different body than mine. I'm a pear. This dress needs a girl wider at top than bottom... and that ain't me. Wide shoulders with no padding, but might have had shoulder pads. The flap "opens" up a bit so you might want to add a snap in place. Excellent condition with tiny, tiny couple pindot spots on sleeve (hardly important). Measures: 36" bust, up to 32" waist, up 36" hips, 37" long from shoulder to hem. $ 385.

Click on image for additional photos!#3712 - c. 1980's FRANK USHER Silk Navy Beaded Jacket! Originally established in 1946 as a design house who produced translations of haute couture for the middle class, Frank Usher is still a well-known label in London specializing in evening and special occasion wear. (long sentence, take a breath!) So.... you can either hope on a plane and fly to Harrod's to purchase your Frank Usher beaded jacket, or... save the airfare, hotels, taxes, taxis and meals, and purchase this lovely piece! I have only located 4 beads missing in this jacket (at side neck) completely covered with millions (Ok, I exaggerate!) of tiny white bugle beads and then studded with white sequins and turquoise beads creating a lovely diamond design! Dress up your life! Yes it's fancy, but it's not "over the top" fancy. Simple enough for a special dinner out, or dressy enough for a gala affair. Padded shoulder, pads come right out if you want. Excellent condition. Fully lined in navy rayon. Even though this is marked Medium, it seems large to me! Measures: up to 42" bust, 46" around bottom of jacket (around hips), 17" across back between armseams, 24" long. Can be worn slightly big, or slightly tight if you only hook the top hook/eye as shown. Otherwise closes down front with all hooks/eyes. $ 285.

I decided to put most of the Dupont gowns on my larger dressform so you can see how they are supposed to look! Love this one! Cornflower blue raw silk bodice with modified boat neck edged in the same amazing blue metallic material as the skirt and matching belt/bow. The blue and gold metallic skirt has red, yellow and turquoise dots.. and the metallic material just lets the light "dance" on it! Lovely!. Measures: 39" bust, 33" waist, 41" long from waist to hem. Metal zipper back. Excellent condition. Silk lined... feels great on! Comes with the matching belt bow. Also Listed in the 1930-Today Category. $ 385.

Hard to photograph the details as it's floral chiffon fabric over the same floral silk fabric! But in person this gives a very expensive look. The sleeves and the upper bodice are the same floral see-through chiffon as the upper layer skirt. Tiny, short standup collar. Great heavy hemline detail. Excellent condition... looks like it was never worn! 7/8 length sleeves with cuffs (great to show off your pearl bracelet). Back zipper. Measures: 38" bust, 31" waist, up to 47" hips, 42" long from waist to hem. $ 285.

Click on image for additional photos!#9468 - c. 1960's Printed Chiffon with Gold "Chains" Gown! Here's a unique fabric! Hard to even describe. Tribal psychedelic? The printed chiffon part is easy, but then there are flat gold "chains" in the material. They don't look like embroidery, and they aren't heavy at all.. so what the heck are they?? Just look at the close-up photos to see. I'll let you tell me! Fun gown with a 4-layer skirt which opens at the front to appear like an overskirt billowing in the breeze.. but it's all attached, and only at the front to sides. The bodice has decorative frogs down front. Back metal zipper. Lined in hot pink silk. Measures: 30" waist, 59" long from shoulders to hem. $ 265.

Click on image for additional photos!#9496 - c. 1960's Aqua/Turquoise Sari Silk Dress with Woven Gold Embroidery! Hard for me to name the color of this fabric as it is nearly a changeable look, but I will just call it aqua/turquoise silk edged in woven golden embroidery. Simple design with square neckline and piped waist. The perfect little dress for any Spring/Summer occasion if you, like me, are tired of "the little black dress". It's time to lead the world from black & white into color! Measures: 36" bust, 30" waist, up to 42" hips, 25" long from waist to hem. Side zipper. This dress is in Excellent condition but with a few minor issues.... I see two small spots on the bodice, and extreme light faded areas in the silk. They may be original, or have faded over time. See photos. All in all, it's still an awesome dress! $ 325.

Click on image for additional photos!#9484 - c. 1960's Navy Lace Dress with Matching Navy Lace Slip Dress! Wow! I've never seen a lace overdress with a lace underdress! Usually the underdresses are plain slips. This lacy underdress gives this dress a very classy, rich look... and that's probably because it was a classy, expensive dress! You will love this dress. Pretty enough to wear both ways... with or without overdress! Scalloped lacy neckline, cuffs and hemline. Side zipper on slip and snaps hidden under buttons in back on dress. Measures: 37" bust, up to 31" waist, up to 41" hips, 42-43" long from shoulder to hem. Excellent condition. Nothing wrong. $ 395.

Click on image for additional photos!#9334 - c. late 1970's ROSE TAFT for COUTURE FASHIONS Brown Dotted Net Gown! I love gowns that are slightly "different", but still beautiful. A gown that you won't see on another woman at the same event. The color is "different" and the style is unique. Sort of a combination of eras! A sexy 30's halter top, the 40's peplum, the 50's full-skirt, and the 60's dots. The color is hard to describe.. but if you had a box of Crayola crayons growing up, you'd call this "Burnt Sienna". I don't know if they have that color anymore, so find an old box to check it out! :) The gown is a polkadot net with matching reddish/brown acetate slip under. The slip has some discolorations, but it's not noticed through the netting. The sleeves are sheer dotted net, and you can see the shape of the lining under. Waist is fitted. NOW.. check out the BACK! Full ruffled "waterfall" down the back of the skirt. Sort of a bustle gone astray! Fabulous! I think this is late 70's, headed into the "froufrou" 80's, but not yet with wide shoulders. Excellent condition other than the discolored slip. Back nylon zipper. Measures: 36" bust, 30" waist, 41" long from waist to hem. $ 345.

Almost paper thin, fairly stiff velveteen which is hand painted in silver with cityscape with high and lowrise buildings design with fireworks going off (or palm trees depending on your mood). Tiny sequins embellish the design and trim. Top has a side metal zipper. Skirt has metal side zipper and wide waistband. Dress is signed by artist (though I can't make it out - Dolanco?... too bad it's not Picasso!). Measures: up to 42" bust, waist of skirt currently 31", but easily 33" if you move the hooks, 25" long from waist to hem. Excellent condition. The sequins are not, and never were very shiny. Just meant to enhance, not scream.... the outfit screams on it's own!: ) $ 465.

Click on image for additional photos!#4006 - c. vintage Silk Embroidered Chinese Jacket! I'm so sorry I can't date this for you. Could be anything from 1960's to yesterday. Don't know. I only know it's great! The floral embroidery work is gorgeous in pastel blues, pinks, yellow and green. The base fabric looks like silk, but I believe it's rayon, there is no fabric label. The embroidery is created from silk threads. Mother-of-pearl small buttons down the front and an oriental type collar. Measures: up to 40" bust, 27" long from shoulder to hem. Marked size Medium. The sleeves are 3/4 length. There are 7" slits on both sides at the hip level which measures 45" around. Excellent condition. NOTE: pinks are a bit more brilliant. Add your favorite daily pair of black pants and you are beautifully dressed! $ 385.

Now I hate to suggest that antique and vintage clothing be "redesigned"... however, if you don't like 1980's puff sleeves, you might want to consider this gown anyway... take to a seamstress and remove the sleeves. How gorgeous is that!! :) Just a thought for you since the fabric of this gown is just soooo exquisite. Measures: 54" long from shoulder to hem. Zippers on sleeve cuffs. Padded shoulders. Doesn't look like it was ever worn! Measures: 36" bust, 30" waist. $ 675.

This skirt is in absolutely mint condition, appears unworn! Looks better in person! The fabric has a gorgeous satin sheen. The nap of the velvet goes up rather than down which helps to catch the light! The skirt is the most lovely shade of pink with a mod design in light purple and white. The pink gradually darkens toward the hem and the bottom half of the skirt is a brilliant jewel toned deep pink with purple and gold that is amazing! The hem has a black and gold design. Fully lined with light pink satin and has a slit on one side. Size is marked European 40, but measures: 28.5" waist, up to 40" hips, 39" long from waist to hem. Very well made! $ 465.

Moschino Cartoon Hip-Hop Duck print! A quilted soft satin fabric with a super fun cartoon pattern!. Hip-hop ducks, decked out in peace-sign necklaces, hoop earrings, and cowboy boots! Banners across the fabric say various phrases: "I Love Fashion" "Health, Wealth, Happiness" "Moschino", and then includes a few clever foreign language phrases including "Je n'aime pas le fois gras" (My high school French allows me to translate to: "I don't like Duck Liver Pate"), and I'm assuming Italian "Mil Piumino D'oca" (which I can't translate ... hey, I was just told by a website viewer that it means "goose down quilt"! Thanks Darrin! ). There's also angel wings and hearts, etc.. etc. Heavy metal zipped fronts on both the jacket and the skirt. The zippers have metal peace-sign pulls. The jacket is a baseball-style bomber jacket, with side pockets, and a knit fabric at the collar, cuffs and bottom hem. The skirt is a micro mini-skirt with side pockets and belt loops at the waist. Excellent, near mint condition. Likely never worn. Labeled US size 6, Euro. size 36. Made of 53% Polyester, 33% Acetate and 14% Rayon. Wonderful empire waist with heavenly sheer black chiffon bodice and "harem" sleeves. The bodice is a bandeau of black lace encrusted with black jet beads all around with a sweet tie bow at front. Excellent condition. Back zipper. Now... I have a suggestion. You can certainly wear this dress when not pregnant, but I think it's a perfect maternity cocktail dress! I've taken a few photos of the dress with the proper baby pillow under just so you can see how it might fit and look! So.. if you have looked high and low for the perfect holiday party dress and you are in your first or second trimester... well, baby.... why not wear something you WILL want to wear again! Measures: 36" bust, up to 35" waist, up to 41" hips, 44" long from shoulder to hem. As a Sarmi, this would have cost much more than this new! $ 545.

SOLD on LAYAWAY#6235 - c. 1970's LILLI ANN KNIT 5-Piece Off-White Skirt, Top and Fox Fur Trimmed Jacket with Two Original Belts! Remember the gold ol' days when polyester was considered highly desirable? It was the "new" fabric. Wash and wear. Easy care. Never wrinkled. Not only used for leisure suits... many of the top designers were using it in their slinky creations... including the era's ultimate designer, Halston. So no surprise to find that Lilli Ann suits (in the past known for their luxury imported French fabrics) switched to polyester for their 1970s suits. Many were dresses with jackets, some with skirts and tops. This is one of the best I've seen. An off-white skirt and zipper-back, long-sleeved top with original rope belt with matching jacket trimmed in lush fox at collar (detachable on lapelled collar) and cuffs on open bell-sleeves and original tie-belt. Just look at the photos to see the details... including the So sweet little rhinestone centered bow at upper back!!! Really.. just look! Oh and check out the sleeves please! All top stitched in a tan thread for a bit of extra "pop". Excellent condition with just a small stain inside at collar (see photos - on inside only) and two very minor I'm sure cleanable spots near hipline. Measures: 38" bust, up to 31" waist, up to 43" hips, 28" long jacket from shoulder to hem, 26" long top, 27" long skirt. $ 385. SOLD on LAYAWAY

SOLD on LAYAWAY#4510 - c. 1950's CEIL CHAPMAN Black Net Strapless Dress with Appliqued Flowers! Hmmmm... OK I bought this dress from another dealer who should be reputable, but seems to often not give full disclosure. I hate that! Anyway... I was not informed that the "halter straps" as she showed the dress in her photos was really nothing more than an extra piece of material. I know... you aren't following me. Perhaps I should start at the beginning with the dress. A Ceil Chapman boned bodice strapless dress of a black fine net material with black rayon under and wonderful appliqued printed paper-thin flower decorations on the skirt portion. The dress may have been longer, or had something else because there is this awkward extra piece of material that will be sold with the dress. This material can be used (by a VERY creative dressmaker or seamstress) to create a halter or other interesting designs (see photos for possibilities). OR, just toss the material and wear the dress as is (I might add a belt or waist sash or something... but that's just me. Measures: 36" bust, 26" waist, 31" long from natural waist to hem. The extra material is 59" x 7" with raw edges and one seam. Side metal zipper. Shown with crinoline under. Excellent condition with two tiny holes... one in netting of skirt (which I can't seem to find again!), and one tiny hole on extra piece. Pretty enough as is, or get creative!

SOLD on LAYAWAY#9926 - c. early 1950's ORIGINAL by PEGGY HUNT Black Silk Crepe Draped Dress with Illusion Lace Bodice! Peggy Hunt was an innovator of the illusion neckline and dressed some of Hollywood's top leading ladies including Mary Pickford, Marlene Dietrich and Bette Davis! This is one of the earlier Peggy Hunt label dresses and has the much more collectable "Original by Peggy Hunt" label. Tiny shoulder pads under the illusion net are barely seen. Near mint condition with just that one pesky little dirt spot on mid front skirt that I'm sure a dry-cleaner can remove... or in worse case, just add an extra drape to totally hide! :) It's worth it as the dress is SOOOO amazing looking... and even more fabulous on your body (I know, because I tried it on and nearly decided to keep it - but again.... I never go anywhere and this dress NEEDS to be seen!!). Measures: 33" bust, 25/26" waist, 36/37" hips, 42" long from shoulder to hem. Fits me like a glove!! So how crazy am I to sell this??? SOLD on LAYAWAY#4812 - c. 1968 PIERRE BALMAIN, Paris Aqua Silk Chiffon Gown over White Foundation with the Famous Parisian HOUSE of LESAGE Heavily Beaded Bodice! A brief history... the House of Lesage traces its roots back to the House of Worth in the 1800's. Over the years, others followed and the House of Lesage has since provided beading and embroidery for most of the important couture houses in Paris and many American designers! But specifically, Lesage was the embroiderer for Balmain, because as the story goes, Balmain feuded with all the other embroidery houses so, by 1968 Lesage was the only one who would work with him! So I was told by a reputable source! Exquisite gown! Please just look at the close-up photos to see the intricate beading on the bodice! Rhinestones, beads, ribbons, sequins, and goldtone beads in the shape of awareness ribbons! Excellent condition with just minor issues to report. One teeny freckle spot on chiffon bodice that should clean (I haven't tried) along with a few other small spots hidden in chiffon skirt seen only on inspection, two small heel tears with dirt at one area of hemline of skirt (always the case with chiffon!) hidden in the folds, and minor wear of those goldtone beads. Still remarkable and certainly wearable as is (only the bodice freckle might want attention). Measures: 36/37" bust, 28.5" waist, 59" long from shoulder to hem. $ 1685. SOLD on LAYAWAY
