#9627 - c. 1950's Mary Sachs, Harrisburg / Lancaster, PA Black Silk Taffeta Ballgown with Original Separate Crinoline! You just have to wonder what designer tag was originally on this gown! All that is left is the hand-sewn Mary Sachs, Harrisburg/Lancaster, PA store tag (a prestigious high-end store in it's time, now gone). The shape of the gown is glorious! Has a look reminiscent of Charles James or Dior. The fullness of the skirt in the back topped by a "v" shape with large bow... echoing the low "v" neck of the bodice back is masterful. The front is equally lovely with buttons decorating the less full front of the skirt from the hip level down. Perfect shape. Classic 1950's ballgown! Back metal zipper at back. Excellent condition, could use a light cleaning as there are light dusty or fade marks in the folds of the lower skirt, but I had to search for that, and wearable as is. comes with the original black poufy crinoline skirt slip for the right shaping! Measures: 35/36" bust, 27" waist, 44" long from natural waist.

SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Display
