#890 - c. 1840's Woman's Wiglet with Curls! This, along with the wig above, are without a doubt.. Museum Quality! And fascinating! Never a bad hair day with this piece! The style of the time, as you probably know, was to have ringlets on the side of the face... but for the woman who wasn't blessed with a great head of hair, this was certainly the answer! As you can see, it slips on the head like a elastic headband. Quite secure. You can pull your real hair through the openings at the top and have it blend in (just like the hair extensions of today! ). A fabulous piece in NEAR MINT Condition! Assuming made from woven horsehair.
