First
off.... This item is going up now because all our thoughts are with
Joan Rivers. This is my tribute to her and my wishes that she
will get back to 100% healthy. In addition to this being a
celebrity worn item, it's also a rare SAMPLE piece by Dior (or more
exactingly by Gianfranco
Ferre who headed up Dior between 1989-1996). AND the simple
black silk camisole underneath?? The rest of us would have gone out
to a local shop and bought a cami to wear under... but Joan
had Bob Mackie "whip one up" for her with bra sewn in (so consider
it a couture piece... even though it was just a quick favor, I'm
sure). The "SUIT" is not a suit, but rather a unique combination of
a dress and a suit with a high waisted skirt attached to the short
jacket at the sides, and just looks like a zip up sheathe dress at
the back!! Not sure what the benefit is of this suit/dress combo,
but it's certainly unique. Love the cuffed short sleeves that
go "white/black" rather than "black/white" and the 3 white
half-round buttons. The material is a cotton faille (or
textured cotton). Excellent condition with just a hint of fade at
the back... hardly worth a mention.
Measures: up to 36" bust, up to 29" waist, up to 37" hips.
