#6747 - c. 1860's Trained White Fine Linen 2-piece Gown Trimmed in Purple Ribbon! Civil War Era! Wearable Size!  OK...  This gown leaves me weak in the knees!  I rarely see a 1860's gown that I love... usually they are just too dark, or plaid, or something other than "heavenly" like this particular one!  Two-piece, fine linen lawn gown with deep v-front bodice, pagoda sleeves, long back streamers attached to back bodice, bodice and trained skirt are trimmed with purple silk taffeta ribbons and embroidered white on white lace. Like I said "HEAVENLY"!   Measures:   35/36" bust, 26" underbust /ribcage (14.5" long from shoulder to bottom of bodice), 27" waist, 40" long skirt at front,  67" long at back.  Excellent condition with just the tiniest holes and period mends on skirt, pinhead rust stains and one on shoulder.  Other than that one rust spot shown in photo, most anyone would call this MINT condition.  Crisp, white, and strong! Shown with a hoop petticoat under (doesn't come with it -my hoop is a 1950's era, so you can easily buy one - find one where the hoops don't show through as this dress is fairly sheer).  The bodice is short, so you will want to wear a white or matching purple sash/belt.  Wearable for a 1860's Civil War era wedding gown... ooh carrying a bouquet of purple flowers.  I always say I seek out the best of the best for this website... you gotta agree with me that I hit the jackpot on this one, eh?
