#6390 - c. 1909/1910 RARE Huge Lampshade Picture Hat of White Satin with Lace and Flowers!  These gigantic "lampshade" hats (I'm sure you can figure out why they called them that!) are extremely hard to find these days as they were often discarded over the years just due to their sheer size... hard to store and keep!  This one is in NEAR MINT condition. I wish I could thank the generations or owners who kept this so pristine!!  Off-white silk with eggshell satin finish edged in black velvet at rim and under brim.  The trimmings are perfectly draped gorgeous off-white lady-finger lace which is fanned at side and covered with off-white silk and velvet Gardenias (or Roses).  The brim is surrounded by oh-so-sweet light blue silk velvet Forget-me-nots with green leaves. The base for the hat is stiff and strong.  The only issues to report at all is a bit of wear at the crown seen under certain lighting (see photos) and slight poking at the upper brim from the wire of the flowers and ever-so-slight dirt on the off-white silk. These issues are SO minor!  You will hardly believe this hat survived in this condition.  As close as you can get to going back in time! Measures:  20.5" x 19.5" x 9" high!

SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Display
