#6337 - c. 1970's Original BOB MACKIE Dance Costume Worn by MITZI GAYNOR! Constructed by Elizabeth Courtney, Hollywood Costumes!  Do you dream of getting a call from "Dancing with the Stars"?  Or do you just want a great Bob Mackie costume to strut your stuff in your on bedroom in front of your own mirror (no YouTube camera in sight!)?  These don't become every day, so fulfill your fantasy once and for all.  A gorgeous example of Bob Mackie in his full element, this sequined dance costume was worn by Mitzi Gaynor in one of her many television specials. The nude leotard is covered in vertical stripes of white sequins which extend beyond the leotard finished with  huge ostrich feathers and large topaz rhinestones.  The look is, of course, to make it appear nearly nude with floating feathers as she danced! Back zipper. Though the costume was constructed at the famed Elizabeth Courtney costumer, and only has the Courtney label,... it is guaranteed to be a Bob Mackie original design.  FYI, Bob and his first collaborator, Ray Aghayan originally had their design studios at Elizabeth Courtney's on Melrose Ave in LA.  Oh, and FYI, Mackie designed multiple costumes for Gaynor and won two Emmy awards for her TV specials:  "Mitzi... Zings Into Spring" and "Mitzi... Roarin' in the '20s".  This costume is in Very Fine condition with just a few sequins that need "combing" into place.  If any sequins are missing, they are few and far between.

SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Study
