#4759 - c. 1882 Cocoa Colored Silk 2-piece Bustle Wedding Gown with Silk Lace Trim! Hey, don't listen to me, trust the Denver museum from which this outfit was de-accessioned.  They tagged it as a wedding gown, so I figure they should know!  And I the wax orange blossom flower and lace decoration at the front neck is a dead giveaway anyway.  Two-piece silk gown with classic apron front skirt, double-tiered bow box-pleated skirt, very fitted button front bodice with cream silk lace floral trim creating "lapels", at cuffs, and bottom of bodice.  Terrific detailing at the top of the sleeves - very renaissance in styling!  Abalone buttons. The interior of the gown is polished cotton so there is no silk lining disintegration as happens in so many gowns. Nope.. this gown is in near mint condition...only the chiffon at the cuffs is worn! Measures: 33" bust, 23" waist, 39" skirt from waist to hem in front, 40.5" in back.

SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Study
