#3891 - c. 1950's CEIL CHAPMAN Unique Champagne Taffeta Evening Dress! Ceil Chapman was amazing. Just when you think that you could spot her look at mile away, comes a confection like this! You could swear it was from a high-fashioned Parisian couturier. Perhaps the inspiration for Issey Miyake? As far as I'm concerned, this is one of those important dresses for your collection. A shiny champagne colored silk taffeta with ruffle pleats in two layers. Too small for my size 6 dressform, so please forgive the side photo with the side metal zipper down. Measures: 32" bust, 25" waist, 31" long from back waist to hem. Excellent condition with just one flaw to mention... this woman unfortunately had a very exciting evening and she sweat a bit under her breasts. There is a light waterspot which you can see in the last photo... it's very light and I've not tried to dryclean (expert drycleaners can do wonders!). What a creation!
SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Display
