#3636 - c. 1950's MARTINI Ivory Cocktail Dress! Dior Copy! "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." Not surprisingly American designers often went to Paris and copied the designs of the great designers of the day. This dress is an example. Well-made quality copy of a early 1950s Dior cocktail dress by Martini. The ivory colored silk satin dress features spaghetti straps, decorative buttons down front of body hugging boned bodice to dropped waist, full asymmetrical draped skirt. And take a look at the sexy fine nude colored tulle trimming the upper bustline! Back metal zipper. Stiff paper-like crinoline lining keeps the skirt in shape. Measures: 33/34 inch bust, 26 inch waist, up to 38" hips. That's the exterior. The interior has an inner bodice which is smaller at 32" bust, 24" waist. However.... this doesn't have to be closed to wear the dress. 48" long from shoulder to hem. Excellent condition with just one slightly dirty button.
SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Study
