#3159 - c. 1950's CEIL CHAPMAN Silk Floral Draped Dress! If you can't seem to find that vintage Jean Desses draped gown that you (and every other vintage clothing lover) is seeking, here is the next best thing!  Ceil Chapman on her best day! She was a master of draping, and frankly nearly as special as Desses! And as you probably know by now, she was one of Marilyn Monroe's favorite designers.... and her fashions were used in advertising campaigns by Cadillac, as a symbol of beauty and sophistication. It is made from a light and airy silk chiffon of white with a large floral design of blue cabbage roses and green leaves. As was typical of Chapman's designing style, the wrapped bodice is full of draped and shirred layers of the chiffon...a sash falls down from under the bust which creates more draping in the front of the skirt. It is fully lined in a white silk with stays in the back, sides and front of the bodice. Strapless with very slight bubble hemline. Back zipper. Measures: 33/34" bust, 27" waist, 37" hips. Nearly perfect condition. Looks great with or without arms... or head! :)
SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Display
