#2669 - c. 1900 Ecru Silk Satin Fancy Dressing Gown! From the Estate of Miss LuLu Glaser, Renowned Victorian / Edwardian Actress! See information on Lulu below. Very rare to find fancy silk dressing gowns! Often these gowns were white cottons which were much easier to clean. On the rare occasion you find a "trousseau" silk piece, often the silk has disintegrated over the years. However.. here's one you shouldn't pass up for your lingerie collection! Ecru, extra fancy design, wrap front, puff sleeves dripping in lace. Original very light blue silk ribbon at neck to tie at waist, and bows on sleeves. Tiny decorative tucks at the waist in front. Excellent condition. I see extremely minor underarm stains in certain lights and minor lace leg breaks. 60" long from back neck to hem, best for about a corseted 24" waist, but shown on 35" bust, 25" waist dressform. Silk is strong, lace is great! Possibly a Parisian import. Very collectable for value as Antique Garment and/or Theatrical Memorabilia.
SOLD - but on display in Museum Category for Research/Study
